Job DescriptionMedical Assistant Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform vital sign documentation, prepare patients and rooms for exams and procedures, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment. This role is essential in providing patient care assistance to support the doctor's daily activities, such as greeting patients, taking vital signs, and preparing examination rooms. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will assist physicians with procedures by documenting medical history and case notes, relaying instructions from the physician to patients, and collecting patient data. Responsibilities • Prepare patients for examination and procedures., • Assist physicians with documenting medical history and case notes., • Relay instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person., • Collect and document patient data both in person and by phone., • Record messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for physician review., • Take complete and accurate messages, routing them to the appropriate area., • Enter orders and referrals, set up cases in the EMR system, and update patient demographics., • Accurately document medical information in patient records., • Track and route test results to physicians or nurse practitioners for review., • Communicate test results to patients when deemed appropriate., • Facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling ancillary tests and reinforcing patient education., • Perform triage as directed by a physician or nurse practitioner., • Maintain an adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies., • Use basic computer skills to proficiently manage electronic health records during daily documentation and communication., • 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience, • Proficient in electronic medical record systems, • Strong patient care and communication skills, • Ability to take vital signs accurately, • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred The position is based in a busy urgent care facility, handling 50-100 patients a day. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility to work until 6 PM if needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
