Job Description Summary We are looking for an Assistant/ Closer to add to an awesome team for a new childcare facility in Rosendale, WI. We are creating a much-needed safe space within a local community that has need for a childcare center. We are a small locally owned childcare center looking for amazing team members that want to educate, enrich, and help our communities children learn and grow. The Assistant/ Closer would work with other teachers and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. S/he must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. Assisting the staff in implementing a quality educational program and in developing positive relationships with the children and their parents. The teachers observe and document children's interest and progress, and relays that information back to parents and staff. This position can be flexible with a start time between 12-2pm and an end time of 530pm Duties -Actively engage in activities whether on the floor or at the table; manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials. -Keep Children's needs up to date with Brightwheel Daily Sheets. -Maintain communications with parents through informal discussions and Brightwheel Daily Sheets. -Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling. -Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center with welcoming arms. -Follow all center policies and state regulations. -Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement. Requirements Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent is required. Certification in First Aid/ Infant Child CPR/ AED required, must be maintained by recertification as necessary, WILL certify if do not have. Must pass criminal background check/ fingerprinting/ health screening. Oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills. (Use of a Tablet daily is required). Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment. (We work as a family) A strong understanding of Infant/ Toddler development and encourage age-appropriate milestones. Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Nice To Haves Assistant teacher certified classes or certification on the Wisconsin Registry is preferred but will provide the classes for the right person. First class must be completed within 6 months of hire. Must be able to lift 35 pounds. (Our changing tables are on the walls) Must be able to stand on their feet for 8-10 hours a day. Prolonged periods of standing, and frequent bending Benefits Paid Time off holidays after 90 days Workman’s Compensation Insurance. FMLA after 1 year of employment. Bereavement Leave, 3 days paid for immediate family members, after 60 days of employment/ Sick Pay, 5 days/ 40 hours, after 60 days of employment. Simple IRA with company 3% match after 60 days of employment. Continuing Education reimbursement per year up to 75$.
