About the Position: Mason is seeking a Junior Structured Cabling Engineer / Estimator with 2+ years of experience in low voltage systems or a recent Electrical Engineering graduate with exposure to structured cabling design and estimating. This role is ideal for someone looking to bridge technical engineering and project estimation within the commercial low voltage industry. The position focuses on commercial structured cabling projects involving copper (Cat6/6A), fiber optic systems, equipment racks, and associated infrastructure. The Junior Engineer / Estimator will support both the design and preconstruction phases by assisting in system layouts, takeoffs, cost estimating, and proposal development. This is a strong growth opportunity for someone who wants to develop both technical engineering capability and real-world estimating experience while working closely with experienced project teams and general contractors. Responsibilities: • Assist in the design and estimation of structured cabling systems, including copper, fiber, racks, and related low voltage infrastructure, • Prepare accurate takeoffs, bills of materials, and labor/material cost estimates, • Review and interpret floor plans, riser diagrams, elevations, and low voltage system drawings, • Support the development of turnkey proposals and bid submissions for commercial projects, • Collaborate with general contractors, project managers, and internal teams during preconstruction and project execution phases, • Utilize tools such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and estimating/quoting software, • Maintain organized documentation including scopes of work, drawings, and proposal packages, • Assist in value engineering and identifying cost-effective design/installation approaches, • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness in all estimating and design deliverables Qualifications: • 2+ years of experience in low voltage/structured cabling, estimating, or related engineering support role OR recent Electrical Engineering graduate with relevant coursework, internships, or project experience, • Familiarity with commercial structured cabling systems (Cat5e/6/6A, fiber optics, and related infrastructure), • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documentation, • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar tools preferred, • Understanding of project-based estimating, takeoffs, and construction sequencing, • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, • Strong written and verbal communication skills, • RCDD and/or BICSI certifications are a plus, • Experience with ConnectWise or similar estimating/CRM tools is a plus Salary: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year Job Type: Full-time, In-Person at our NYC Office or Deer Park HQ We are currently only considering candidates who already live within commuting distance of our offices.
