Job Description Summary: We are representing a reputable commercial general contractor seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing preconstruction team. The Estimator will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates for a range of commercial projects, including ground-up builds, tenant improvements, retail, office, education, and healthcare. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with project managers, architects, and trade partners in a collaborative environment focused on precision, teamwork, and long-term success. Key Responsibilities: * Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for commercial projects at various design stages * Review drawings, specifications, and addenda to define scope and assess constructability * Perform accurate quantity takeoffs across multiple trades and disciplines * Solicit, analyze, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals for scope completeness * Develop and maintain updated budgets, bid packages, and preconstruction documents * Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and design coordination sessions * Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering alternatives * Support preconstruction handoffs and assist operations teams with project transitions * Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and assist in developing bid coverage Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred * 3–7 years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor * Experience in ground-up, tenant improvement, or institutional projects (K-12, healthcare, higher ed) * Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment * Detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to accuracy Compensation + Benefits: * Competitive base salary based on experience * Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage * 401(k) retirement plan with company match * Paid time off, holidays, and sick leave * Professional development and advancement opportunities * Collaborative and supportive team environment
