Job Description Full-Charge Bookkeeper Location : Marlboro, N J Job Type : Temporary with Potential for Permanent Hire Work Arrangement : Fully Onsite Position Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Full-Charge Bookkeeper to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and support the financial health of a growing organization. This position will be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, sales tax filings, general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. This role serves as the primary accounting professional for the organization and is responsible for managing the full accounting cycle with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate is comfortable taking ownership of all day-to-day accounting functions while partnering with company leadership and external accounting advisors as needed. This is a fully onsite temporary opportunity with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate. Experience within the manufacturing, construction, or related industries is a plus but is not required Key Responsibilities: • Manage daily bank reconciliations and monitor operating and payroll account balances to ensure accurate cash management., • Process weekly payroll, including timecard calculations, attendance and PTO tracking, payroll reporting through ADP, payroll journal entries, 401(k) contributions, and payroll distribution., • Oversee the full accounts payable process, including invoice review, purchase order matching, coding, data entry, credit card reconciliations, payment preparation, and cash flow monitoring., • Manage accounts receivable functions, including invoice entry, payment application, deposit processing, and account reconciliation., • Reconcile monthly corporate credit card statements and ensure all expenses are properly coded and recorded within the accounting system., • Conduct monthly workers' compensation audits, reconcile payroll data, process payments through online portals, and record all related journal entries., • Prepare and file monthly and quarterly sales tax returns for New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, including reconciliation of collected sales tax and submission of payments through state portals., • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate classification of transactions through daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries., • Perform month-end close procedures, including account reconciliations, financial statement review, balance sheet reconciliation, and income statement analysis., • Review accounts receivable and accounts payable aging reports on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and timely resolution of outstanding items., • Assist with quarterly income tax estimates and collaborate with the company's outside CPA on general ledger reviews and financial statement preparation., • Support regulatory and corporate compliance activities, including annual report filings, DOT/UCR maintenance, state certifications, and business renewals., • Maintain employee records and assist with HR administration, including onboarding documentation, payroll setup, attendance tracking, benefits administration, and employee healthcare enrollment and terminations. Qualifications:, • 3+ years of full-charge bookkeeping or accounting experiencerequired., • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively manage a full-cycle accounting function with limited oversight., • Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting., • Experience with ADP payroll processing preferred., • Knowledge of multi-state sales tax filings and compliance requirements preferred., • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel., • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail., • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment., • Experience in manufacturing, construction, or related industries is a plus, but not required.
