Job Description Job Title: Part-Time Office Assistant Location: Bakersfield, CA Compensation: $20/hour, approximately 20 hours per week Schedule: Part-time, in-person. Occasional evenings/weekends for events (advance notice provided). Benefits: Not benefits-eligible due to part-time status. Position Overview A reputable non-profit membership organization in Kern County is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Part-Time Office Assistant. This role supports daily office operations, member communication, event coordination, and outreach. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a small-office environment where flexibility and initiative are essential. Key Responsibilities Front Office & Administrative Support • Greet visitors, answer incoming calls, and manage general email inquiries., • Maintain office supplies (paper, ink, envelopes, forms, etc.) and ensure basic office needs are met., • Assist with communication to members via email, phone calls, and outreach campaigns., • Track new, renewing, and canceled memberships using a CRM system (Salesforce or similar)., • Draft social media posts, newsletter content, blog articles, and other communications for review., • Coordinate with external web support to update website content as needed., • Send calendar invites and reminders for board and committee meetings., • Support planning and logistics for annual events, workshops, and special activities., • Track sponsorships, registrations, attendees, and payments in organized spreadsheets., • Communicate with vendors, sponsors, venues, and attendees to ensure smooth coordination., • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal., • Excellent organizational abilities and a high level of attention to detail., • Proficient typing and general administrative skills., • Ability to multitask and shift priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace., • Willingness to learn new tools and processes; creativity is highly valued., • Experience with Canva, Constant Contact, and other digital platforms is a plus., • Dependable and punctual with a professional demeanor., • Comfortable interacting with the public and providing quality customer service., • Able to work independently while maintaining strong communication with the team.
