Job Description New Alternatives for Children, Inc. (NAC) is an award-winning not-for-profit agency in Midtown Manhattan, dedicated to serving children and families with medical complexity, chronic health conditions, significant disabilities and behavioral challenges. To assist in achieving this mission, NAC is currently seeking a Per Diem ABA Behavior Technician to join its Peter Haje Center for Autism. The Peter Haje Center for Autism is one of the only clinics in New York to provide ABA services to neurodiverse children in foster care and preventative services. The Behavior Technician will report to the Director of Behavior Intervention Services of The Peter Haje Center for Autism and be a part of the Comprehensive Healthcare Center (CHC) located at New Alternatives for Children, Inc. NAC's on-site CHC includes Article 31 and Article 28 clinics and delivers a range of integrated interdisciplinary medical and mental health services. The hallmark of the agency is assuring quality professional and strength-based services to children and families involved in the child welfare system. This position provides substantial opportunity for interdisciplinary collaboration across disciplines. • Title of Position: Per Diem ABA Behavior Technician, • Position Type: Per-Diem home-based in Manhattan or Brooklyn, • Salary Range: $25-$30 per hour (based on experience), • Location: 825 7th Avenue, New York, NY, 10019, • Mentorship and supervision provided by an LBA with experience in Child Welfare, • Flexible schedule that meets Client needs (Daytime hours available in Brooklyn), • Unique blend of opportunities (home cases, clinic-based social skills group), • Deliver ABA therapy to clients who have autism, including but not limited to the use of, Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT), Natural Environment Teaching (NET), Reinforcement Systems, Extinction Procedures, Verbal Behavior, Task Analysis, Behavior Reduction, Adaptive Daily Living Skills Training, Vocational Skills Training and Social Skills Training, • Be able to work 1:1 and within a small group, • Responsible for set up and break down of session activities, • Understand the basic ABA principles, • Implement Individual Treatment Plans, • Collect ABA program and behavioral data per session, • Take daily descriptive log notes of each session, • Communicate professionally with caregivers and relevant NAC staff, • Communicate consistently with Supervising BCBA/LBA, • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work or related field (preferred), • Requires a minimum of 6 months experience implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy., • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) highly preferred., • Experience working with individuals who may present with challenging behaviors preferred, • Experience working with a variety of individuals is highly preferred., • Experience delivering services within a social skills group is preferred New Alternatives for Children, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
