Job Description We’re hiring a hands-on industrial machine builder to assemble and build bag-making / film converting machinery from mechanical engineering drawings, BOMs, and specifications. This is a shop-floor build role involving precision mechanical assembly, alignment, troubleshooting during build, and supporting machine test/run-off. Important: This position is for candidates who have built or assembled industrial machinery / OEM equipment. Candidates with only automotive repair backgrounds (engines, brakes, general vehicle service) will not be considered unless they also have direct industrial machine build experience. What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities) • Build complete OEM converting/bag machines and subassemblies from prints, exploded views, and BOMs., • Read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings (dimensions, tolerances, fits, fastener callouts, assembly notes)., • Perform precision installation and alignment of mechanical components, including: shafts, bearings, rollers/web-handling assemblies chain/belt drives, gearboxes, couplings, pneumatic components (FRLs, valves, cylinders), basic hydraulics if applicable, motors and mechanical power transmission components., • Use measurement and inspection tools to achieve proper fit and alignment (calipers, micrometers, indicators, feeler gauges, straight edges, torque tools, etc.)., • Troubleshoot mechanical issues during build and test: binding/misalignment, vibration, tracking issues, inconsistent motion, air leaks, premature wear, etc., • Partner with engineering and production to: clarify prints, flag part/drawing discrepancies, suggest build improvements (access, serviceability, repeatability)., • Complete build documentation: assembly checklists, punch lists, redlines/feedback to engineering and quality notes.
