Overview The Field Performance Technicians are responsible for the management, scheduling, and completion of all service and warranty related work. The Field Service / Field Performance Technician must have the ability to work both independently and as a member of the Performance O&M team. This position will interact closely with the customers, Branch Manager, the Senior Electrical Foreman, Construction Supervisor and the centralized scheduling Field Service Team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Organize, lead, and maintain the warranty and service schedule. * Work with the Electrical Foreman, Construction Supervisor and the Branch Manager to allocate labor resources to service and warranty projects as needed * Assist with training and development for Field Service Technicians and Field Communications Technicians. * Lead regular meetings to align and train the local field service team on best practices * Support the on-boarding and training of new members of the field performance team * Regularly exceed defined goals for field performance key performance indicators including but not limited to turnaround time, experience rating and average dispatches completed * Assist with other tasks including inspections and site audits when assigned EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * 1 - 3 years of previous field construction or solar experience required * PV design or PV electrical experience is preferred * High School diploma is required LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (include where appropriate) * Must maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check. Responsibilities • Review plans and architectural drawings; prepare quantity take-offs on assigned projects., • Ability to read and understand bidding documents (e.g., drawings, specification & scope of work assist in developing and updating the project schedule)., • Process/manage material deliveries – ensure that materials received are properly inspected for quantity and quality and are in compliance with contract documents., • Review project plans and specifications and coordinate with the team to confirm complete scope., • Coordinate and schedule shop drawings and submittals., • Ability to lead a team – setting direction, developing teamwork and collaboration, and achieving results through others, • Must be able to manage large size technical projects., • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively simultaneously such as estimating/purchasing/scheduling and coordinating well with company electrical foremen and Prime contractors., • Submit RFIs to vendors for assigned projects, includes leveling bids, • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with high and low dollar value, • Monitor job progress and make necessary changes to meet goals, • Monitor job costs and complete Job Cost Projections, • Maintain a complete and current record of submittals, approvals and resubmittals, including a file of letters of transmittal and dates of each transaction., • High level of involvement in the operations of our cost control system and analysis of construction costs., • Accumulate all necessary data and prepare monthly pay estimates., • Manage project schedules and budget, • Develop and manage design project scopes of work, • Manage and update project status reports, • Schedule/coordinate the job progress meetings, • Plan for upcoming schedule milestones and target dates, • Read and create project schedules, • Process and estimate change orders and requests for information, • Strong project management, communication and multitask skills, • Excellent written and oral communication skills, • Strong interpersonal skills, • Construction Management, • Strong computer skills, emphasis on Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects, • Value Engineering, • Project management and supervision skills, • Decision making ability and leadership skills, • Functions effectively as part of a team, • Time management and organization skills, • Ability to “think on your feet” and to respond to critical deadlines, • Engineering Experience, • Transit experience a plus, • Ability to meet critical project deadlines., • Willingness to coordinate and work as a team member., • Excellent interpersonal, writing and computer skills, • Ability to make decisions, work independently and coordinate with colleagues., • High degree of knowledge of electrical construction, including Fire Alarm systems., • Ability to organize and prioritize., • Strong verbal and written communication., • Job training and mentorship, • Supportive Management Team, • Emphasis on professional development, employee satisfaction and work-life balance, • Competitive compensation packages, • 401(k) match Retirement, • Medical Insurance, • Vision insurance, • Dental Insurance, • Union shop Level • Full-timeCompany DescriptionRMD Electric Corp. is an electrical contractor with over 15 years of experience in meeting the needs of our customers and is fully committed to giving our diverse New York City and Long Island clienteles prompt, consistently top quality electrical work designed to meet and exceed industry standards for safety and efficiency, regardless of the size or scale of the electrical work you need done.
