Job Description JOB TITLE: Contract Specialist LOCATIONS: Hillside, NJ REPORTS TO: General Counsel FLSA STATUS: Fulltime, Exempt SALARY: $115,000–$140,000 annually OVERVIEW The Contract Specialist manages and supports the lifecycle of contracts across our crane, rigging, and heavy hauling operations. This role ensures the company’s contracts are well-structured, compliant, and aligned with operational and legal standards. The ideal candidate will have a construction or industrial services background with a proven ability to manage complex service agreements, subcontractor contracts, and client documentation. The Contract Specialist will serve as a bridge between Legal, Sales, Operations, and Project Management teams to minimize risk, ensure contractual compliance, and support successful project delivery. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and client agreements for crane, rigging, and heavy equipment projects., • Identify and mitigate contractual risks in collaboration with the General Counsel and operational teams., • Support sales and project management teams during pre-bid, negotiation, and contract execution phases., • Maintain comprehensive contract records, amendments, insurance certificates, and compliance documentation., • Track contract milestones, deliverables, renewals, and key performance metrics., • Coordinate with Finance and Credit to ensure accurate billing, change orders, and payment terms., • Review RFPs, bid packages, and client requirements for contractual compliance., • Assist with dispute resolution, clarifications, and enforcement of terms as needed., • Maintain awareness of legal and regulatory requirements relevant to construction and equipment rental contracts., • Provide administrative support for audits, compliance reporting, and document retention., • Support the development of standardized templates, forms, and process improvements within the Contracts function. QUALIFICATIONS • 5+ years of experience in contract administration or contract management within construction, industrial services, or heavy equipment rental industries., • Strong understanding of construction contract types (e.g., client service agreements, subcontractor agreements, POs, change orders)., • Demonstrated experience redlining, drafting, and interpreting complex contractual language., • Familiarity with commercial, municipal, and private sector contracting requirements., • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills., • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines., • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with contract management systems preferred., • Ability to collaborate across teams and levels within the organization., • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Legal Studies, or related field preferred., • Paralegal certification or equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
