Location Binghamton Container 1240 Conklin Road Conklin, NY 13748 607-775-1550 Schedule & Classification Category: Hourly Full-Time Shift: 1st shift for training, then 3rd shift A Day in the Role You’ll split your time between instrumentation and electrical work—reading and redlining loop sheets and P&IDs, tuning control loops, diagnosing PLC issues, and maintaining power distribution equipment from 480v through 13.8kv. One moment you’re calibrating field instruments for boilers and environmental systems, the next you’re troubleshooting AC/DC drives or a photoelectric sensor on the line. You’ll collaborate with journeymen-level Electrical/Instrumentation technicians, and sharpen your skills through our paid Global Manufacturing Training program that blends hands-on work with classroom learning. What You’ll Do Instrumentation • Troubleshoot, configure, and maintain PLC systems and single-loop controls across field systems., • Install and calibrate a range of analog and SMART instruments and analytical devices from various manufacturers., • Perform shop and field repairs on final control elements: pneumatic valves, electric valves, solenoid-operated valves; calibrate pneumatic and SMART valve positioners., • Read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics; read and redline loop sheets and P&IDs., • Execute routine and regulatory calibration of field instruments for boilers and environmental systems., • Troubleshoot and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems., • Apply NFPA70E practices addressing Arc Flash and Shock hazards., • Calibration and maintaining control instrumentation. Electrical, • Troubleshoot, install, and repair AC and DC drive systems, including stand‑alone process drives from multiple manufacturers., • Troubleshoot, install, and maintain electrical components such as mechanical limit, proximity, photoelectric, speed, and reflective switches., • Read and interpret electrical schematics., • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on 480v thru 13.8kv power distribution switchgear., • Understand and follow NFPA70E regulations involving Arc Flash and Shock hazards., • Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications, • At least 18 years of age., • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience., • At least three (3) years of experience with instrumentation and electrical systems. Work Environment & Readiness, • Comfort working in industrial conditions (may be warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery, elevated surfaces, and confined spaces with proper training and PPE)., • Complete technical online testing, an interview, and a formal hands-on assessment of skills., • Work any shift and/or rotating schedule; frequent overtime including short notice; regular weekends and holidays., • Wear required safety equipment. Preferred Background, • Associate’s degree and/or certifications in Industrial Maintenance or related instrumentation/electrical disciplines., • Five (5) or more years working with instrumentation and electrical systems., • Experience in a heavy industrial environment.
