Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 04/13/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 48 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 4x12hrs, • Hours: 48 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Apr 13, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • PCU/IMC/Stepdown unit within a 562-bed, Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital, • Day shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (0645–1915), with flexibility to accommodate a 4x12 block schedule if preferred, • Every other weekend required, • No on-call requirements, • Floating within the hospital and to nearby affiliate facilities is required of all travelers, • Patient population includes cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, respiratory, renal, and post-surgical cases, • Clinical skills required include: telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management, use of Rapid Response Teams, post cardiac angiogram/cath/surgery care, sheath removal, TR band, pre/post hemodialysis management, arterial line and central line management, PICC line management, port access, blood product administration, heparin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, PCA, procedural sedation, ventilated patient care, chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy management, ABG interpretation, craniotomy/CVA/TBI/spinal cord injury care, pre/post neurosurgery, ortho trauma, total joint replacements, peripheral nerve block catheters, skin grafts, surgical drains, feeding tube care, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions, • Charting system: Cerner (experience preferred), • Scrubs: any solid color, • Free parking available with permit (form completed during orientation)Requirements, • Active IL RN license required at time of consideration — pending licenses not accepted, • Minimum 1 year of PCU, IMC, Stepdown, Neuro Stepdown, or Telemetry RN experience required, • Required certifications: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — must be active at time of consideration; AHA and Red Cross accepted (RQI AHA cards not accepted), • ACLS preferred, • Teaching hospital experience preferred, • Level I Trauma experience preferred, • Cerner EMR experience preferred, • SSN and DOB required for consideration, • 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years requiredAdditional Information, • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position, • Former permanent or PRN employees of the Memorial Hospital System must have been away for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler, • Travel pairs are not accepted, • Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays, • RTO of 5 days or fewer is generally accommodated; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval, • Block schedule requests may be discussed with the manager, • Local candidates are accepted with no radius requirement With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
