Springfield offers a vibrant community, rich history, and beautiful parks—making it an ideal location for healthcare professionals seeking travel nursing jobs in Illinois.\n \n\nTravel Nursing Job Details\n\n • Assignment Type: Travel Nursing\n, • Location: Springfield, Illinois (62781)\n, • Facility: Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center, Magnet Hospital\n, • Start Date: November 17, 2025\n, • End Date: February 16, 2026\n, • Duration: 13 weeks\n, • Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour (08:45 – 19:15)\n, • Hours per Week: 40\n, • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2450 - $2510\n, • Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend shift per month\n, • On-call: Yes, typically 1 per week (less frequent currently)\n, • Scrub Color: Provided\n, • Charting System: Cerner EMR\n, • Parking: Free with permit\n\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n\n, • Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room RN experience in a Level I Trauma Center\n, • General OR and trauma nursing experience required\n, • Prior travel nursing experience required\n, • Active Illinois Registered Nurse license or pending application\n, • BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross only)\n, • CNOR and CST certifications preferred\n, • Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (per travel nurse guidelines)\n, • Experience with Cerner charting system preferred\n, • Ability to float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed\n, • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)\n, • Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract\n\n\nOperating Room Nurse Responsibilities\n\n, • Deliver perioperative nursing care for diverse surgical specialties (excluding CV)\n, • Assist in trauma cases and emergency management (code response, fire safety, latex allergy, malignant hyperthermia)\n, • Demonstrate proficiency in surgical procedures: laparoscopic cases, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, mastectomy, thyroidectomy, Whipple, cervical fusion, craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, arthroscopy, carpal tunnel release, fracture reduction, organ donation, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, and multi-trauma cases\n, • Operate and maintain specialized surgical equipment (electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, Hana tables)\n, • Administer blood products, ensure infection control, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, and universal protocol compliance\n, • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, radiology, social services, etc.)\n We believe in empowering your career.
