Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: OR - Operating Room, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 05/18/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 10 hours, evenings, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Evenings, 4x10hrs, • Hours: 40 hrs/wk, • Start Date: May 18, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Large, 23-room Operating Room department within a 562-bed acute care hospital designated as a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet facility, • Evening shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM, • One weekend shift required per month, • On-call required approximately once per week, • Floating within skill set to meet facility needs is required of all travelers, including potential float to a nearby affiliate hospital, • Works across multiple service lines; cardiovascular (CV) cases are excluded from this assignment, • Case experience required across General Surgery, Bariatric, Neurology, Orthopedic, Plastic Surgery, Transplant (organ donation), Urology, Trauma, and Emergency Management, • Required equipment experience includes electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, and Hana tables, • Charting is performed in Cerner (experience preferred), • Scrubs are provided for this role, • Free parking is available on-site with a permit obtained during orientationRequirements, • Active IL RN license required; candidates actively in the application process for IL licensure will also be considered, • Active BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards are not accepted), • CNOR certification preferred, • Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required, • Level I Trauma center experience required, • General OR and trauma OR experience required, • Required General Surgery case experience: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair (inguinal/umbilical), Laparoscopic-assisted procedures, Mastectomy, Thyroidectomy (partial/total), and Whipple procedure, • Required Bariatric case experience: Laparoscopic-assisted cases, • Required Neurology case experience: Cervical fusion, Craniotomy, Laminectomy/Discectomy, and Lumbar fusion, • Required Orthopedic case experience: Arthroscopy, Carpal Tunnel release, and Open/Closed reduction of fractures, • Required Plastic Surgery case experience: Free Flap – Microvascular, • Required Urology case experience: Cystoscopy, Nephrectomy, and Prostatectomy, • Required Trauma case experience: Amputations, Gunshot/stab wounds, and MVA (multiple injuries), • Required Emergency Management skills: Code response, Fire safety, Latex Allergy protocol, and Malignant Hyperthermia management, • Required professional skills: Administration of blood products, Infection control, Radiation Safety, Specimen Handling/Labeling, Universal Protocol (Time Out), and Urinary bladder catheterization, • SSN and DOB required for consideration, • Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required, • Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained requiredAdditional Information, • First-time travelers are not eligible for this position, • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position, • Former permanent or PRN employees of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for a minimum of 12 months before applying as a traveler, • Travel pairs are not accepted, • Block scheduling cannot be accommodated, • All requested time off must be reviewed and approved by the facility manager; RTO requests should be submitted at the time of initial application, • Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
