American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Henderson, Nevada. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Labor and Delivery, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 04/13/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Apr 13, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Acute care hospital L&D unit with 17 labor beds, 2 OR suites for C-sections, 4 triage beds, and 16 postpartum beds, • High-risk Level 3 facility averaging approximately 250 births per month, • Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 2:1 for normal laboring patients, 1:1 for high-risk labors, 4:1 for couplet care, and 2:1–4:1 for antepartum depending on acuity, • OB, neonatologist, and anesthesia are in-house 24/7, • Ancillary support includes Certified Surgical Techs and unit secretaries, • Charting is done in Cerner, which is also used for EFM, • 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend required, • Floating to postpartum (mother-baby) and other units as needed; travelers are first to float, • No on-call or standby requirement, • Holiday coverage required as neededRequirements, • Active NV RN license (Standard or Compact/NLC) required; pending licenses are not accepted, • Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required, • Required certifications (all must be active; no pending certifications accepted): BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM), and NRP, • Must be proficient with vaginal exams and internal monitor placement, • Experience with high-risk laboring/delivery and antepartum patients required, • Ability to independently circulate and recover C-section patients, • Proficiency titrating drips including Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, Insulin, and Heparin required, • Ability to independently read and interpret fetal monitor strips required, • 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire, • Copy of driver's license required for consideration, • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (NV); driver's license is used to verify permanent addressAdditional Information, • Nurses circulate and recover their own C-section patients in addition to managing laboring and antepartum assignments, • RNs are responsible for independently reading fetal monitor strips; no telemetry techs are on the unit, • Patients requiring artificial ventilation are transferred to the ICU; RT equipment is available if needed in the interim, • Scheduling is self-directed via a team scheduling system, with the final schedule balanced by a scheduling committee, • Navy blue scrubs are required; light blue OR scrubs are available for use in the OR, • Unit orientation for travelers is 3 days With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
