Job Description A 4th-grade teacher in a Tennessee public school is responsible for instructing students in core academic subjects-such as English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies-while fostering their social and emotional development. This role requires aligning all instruction with the Tennessee Academic Standards. Core Responsibilities • Instructional Planning: Develop and deliver engaging, meaningful lesson plans with clear, measurable outcomes that follow state and local curricula guidelines., • Differentiation: Adapt teaching strategies, materials, and remedial programs to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including those with varying abilities and interests., • Assessment & Data Analysis: Administer diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments, analyze student data, and adjust instructional plans accordingly to ensure high student achievement., • Classroom Management: Create a safe, well-managed, and positive learning environment conducive to student success., • Collaboration & Communication: Regularly confer with parents, colleagues, and administrators regarding student progress and behavior., • Professionalism: Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and educational conferences to maintain and improve teaching competence.Essential Qualifications, • Licensure: Must hold a valid Tennessee Teacher's License with an appropriate endorsement for elementary education (e.g., K-5 or Elementary Education K-6)., • Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required., • Skills: Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; proficiency in using instructional technology to enhance learning.Working Conditions, • Schedule: Typically a 200-day contract for the academic year., • Physical Demands: May require frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting of objects up to 25–50 pounds.
