ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS In partnership with Elevate Teaching, Invictus Academy of Richmond is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join the Elevate Teacher Residency. This innovative, one-year program is designed for aspiring educators seeking to earn a California teaching credential while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic learning environment. Residents will work and learn alongside an experienced mentor teacher in an Elevate partner school (Invictus Academy of Richmond), engage in professional learning with a cohort of peers, and contribute to creating an inclusive and engaging classroom culture committed to student success. The quality of our school cannot exceed the quality of our teachers. In that spirit, we are seeking exceptional individuals to execute the following essential job functions and professional responsibilities: • Work and learn alongside a mentor teacher at an Elevate partner school, including co-planning and co-teaching lessons that support diverse learning styles., • Support individual students, small groups, and whole classes to provide differentiated instruction and create a positive learning environment., • Collaborate closely with mentor teachers and school staff to assess student progress and implement effective interventions., • Participate in ongoing professional development with a cohort of peers., • Engage with families and the community to foster strong relationships that support student success., • Lead teach when the mentor teacher is out of the classroom for monthly trainings., • Substitute teach in other classrooms at the school (depending on school placement). PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance in order to perform essential functions of the role., • Serve as a substitute teacher across different spaces as needed., • Collaborate with staff and leadership to continuously improve practices and address student needs effectively., • Foster open and respectful communication, offering and receiving constructive feedback to enhance personal and team performance., • Set and hold high expectations for academics and behavior., • Develop trusting, authentic relationships with students and their families., • Create and maintain a joyful, safe, structured, and engaging school and classroom culture., • Demonstrate passion for the content area you teach., • Encourage students to take risks and learn from their mistakes and create opportunities for students to leverage the power of their voice., • Supervise and engage with students in-person to ensure student safety and learning., • Uphold and model core values, including purpose, perseverance, productivity, growth mindset, integrity, leadership, joy, gratitude, mindfulness, and kindness., • Perform any other reasonable duties or responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor., • Participate in the performance evaluation process, which is based on adherence to the outlined responsibilities and qualifications. CREDENTIALS OFFERED: • Single Subject (Middle/High School): Mathematics, Science, Social Science, ELA, Spanish, • Education Specialist (Mild/Moderate), • Bilingual Authorization BENEFITS: • Minimum salary of $37k. Compensation may vary based on the placement., • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and retirement (varies based on placement), • Access to scholarships, grants, and federal financial aid, • Professional Development, coaching and mentorship from an experienced teacher, • Priority hiring at Elevate partner school where resident trains PUBLIC SCHOOL EMPLOYMENT REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelors degree by June 2026, • Minimum 3.0 GPA (lower GPA considered with exemption letter), • Subject Matter Competency Requirement met via CSET, or relevant coursework, • Authorization to work in the U.S., • TB clearance and fingerprint clearance DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with educators and students., • Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment., • Willingness to engage in continuous professional learning throughout the residency year., • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a classroom setting or educational program preferred but not required.
