American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Puyallup, Washington. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ED - Emergency Department, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 02/23/2026, • Duration: 15 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in a busy Emergency Department at a Level III Trauma Center, • Unit has 46 beds, including 5 safe psych rooms and a Fast Track area, • Treats diverse patient population including trauma, STEMI, stroke, mental health, sepsis, DKA, respiratory, and limited pediatrics, • Average of 200 patients per day with high acuity cases, • Nurse-patient ratios are typically 1:4-5, with flexibility based on acuity and staffing, • Shifts are 12 hours, mostly mids/nights (1500, 1900 start times), • Schedule varies with coverage for 2 of 5 major holidays required, • No floating required, • Utilizes Epic EMR, Alaris, Pyxis, and telemetry monitoring, • Support includes ER techs, charge nurse, resource/float nurse, RT, educator, 24/7 security, house supervisor, social work, and pharmacy, • Initial orientation includes NEO, Epic training (if needed), mental health area time, and precepted shift, • Professional attire: any scrub color permitted as long as professional; modest piercings and non-offensive tattoos allowed, • Free parking is available in designated areas, • Team-oriented, traveler-friendly unit with a fast-paced environment, • First-time travelers are accepted\n \n Requirements\n, • Active WA or compact RN license in hand or proof of application, • Minimum 2 years recent Emergency Department RN experience, • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and CPI/MOAB certifications, • Recent, hands-on Epic charting experience is required, • Skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV starts, drips, med administration, procedural sedation, blood and TNK administration, • Traveler telemetry competency exam must be completed and passed prior to start\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
