Job Description Job Title: UH-60 Blackhawk Technician Job Description This role focuses on performing comprehensive maintenance on UH-60 and H-60 Blackhawk helicopters, including troubleshooting, repair, modifications, inspections, and servicing of aircraft systems. You will work in accordance with approved aviation maintenance methods, techniques, and practices, and you will certify the work you complete to ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities • Perform the full range of troubleshooting, repair, modifications, inspections, and servicing on UH-60 and H-60 Blackhawk helicopters in accordance with approved methods, techniques, and practices., • Troubleshoot aircraft engines and systems, accurately diagnose issues, and implement effective corrective actions., • Use the Federal Supply System to research, request, and manage required parts, tools, and materials., • Read, understand, and apply information from mechanical manuals, technical publications, schematics, and drawings., • Read and interpret aircraft instruments and indicators to support troubleshooting and system verification., • Use special test equipment and tools to evaluate, maintain, and repair aircraft systems and components., • Research applicable sections of Aviation Facilities Division and other technical references to ensure proper maintenance procedures., • Perform full system checkout on all aircraft systems to confirm proper operation after maintenance and repairs., • Perform mechanic test flight duties as required to validate aircraft performance and system functionality., • Carry out complete servicing of aircraft, including routine and preventive maintenance tasks., • Apply knowledge of Army TAMMS procedures and documentation to accurately record maintenance actions and aircraft status., • Maintain a strong focus on preventive maintenance to improve aircraft reliability and reduce downtime., • Ensure all work complies with safety standards, technical orders, and regulatory requirements., • Maintain tools in proper condition, ensuring they are etched and shadowed in accordance with tool control procedures. Essential Skills • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on maintenance experience on H-60 or UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters., • Previous experience working with US Army aircraft or in a US Army aviation maintenance environment., • Strong UH-60 or H-60 maintenance experience including troubleshooting and preventive maintenance., • Ability to read and understand mechanical manuals, technical data, and schematics., • Ability to read and interpret aircraft instruments and system indicators., • Proficiency in using special test equipment and tools for aircraft maintenance and troubleshooting., • Familiarity with Army TAMMS procedures and documentation standards., • Ability to perform full system checkout on all aircraft systems and support mechanic test flight duties., • Capability to use the Federal Supply System for parts and material support., • Possession of tools that are etched and shadowed in compliance with tool control requirements., • Ability to obtain a security clearance as required for the role. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with HH-60, SH-60, or other Sikorsky helicopter variants., • Experience in both corrective and preventive maintenance on rotary-wing aircraft., • Attention to detail and a high commitment to safety and quality in all maintenance activities., • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team. Work Environment Work takes place in a climate-controlled hangar designed to support safe and efficient aircraft maintenance. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., providing consistent daytime hours. This position begins as a 6‑month contract-to-hire opportunity. The required attire includes a T-shirt, work pants, and steel-toe boots, reflecting a hands-on maintenance environment. You will work around UH-60 and H-60 Blackhawk helicopters and related ground support equipment in a professional aviation facility that follows established safety and tool control procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lakehurst, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $38.00/hr.
