American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Atlanta, Georgia. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ED - Emergency Department, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 04/20/2026, • Duration: 8 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Apr 20, 2026, • Length: 8 weeks, • High-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center emergency department, • Float pool role primarily supporting the ED with boarder patients, who may include med/surg, stepdown, or ICU-level patients, • Float to acute care units may be required as needed, • Night shift, 12 hours per shift, 3 shifts per week, • No on-call requirements, • Block scheduling is generally not approved, • Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per monthRequirements, • Active RN license — GA license or compact RN license required, • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC, • Minimum 2 years of ED experience in a similarly sized Level 1 trauma facility, • Proven experience managing critical, high-volume, and high-acuity trauma cases, • Background in large-scale, high-volume hospitals with diverse and severe cases, • A resume with no unexplained employment gaps, • ED skills checklist required for considerationAdditional Information, • Primary responsibility is caring for boarder patients in the ED, spanning med/surg, stepdown, and ICU acuity levels, • This is a very busy, fast-paced inner-city trauma environment — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered, • Local candidates are accepted for this position With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
