Job Description Lead Plumbing Installer The Lead Plumbing Installer is responsible for leading residential plumbing installation projects from start to finish while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, cleanliness, efficiency, and customer service. This position is a working-lead role. The Lead Installer is expected to perform hands-on plumbing work while directing apprentices and helpers, coordinating with the office and other trades, and ensuring every installation meets company standards, manufacturer specifications, and applicable plumbing codes. The Lead Installer represents the company in the customer's home and is expected to conduct themselves as a professional, knowledgeable, and trustworthy representative of a top-tier plumbing company. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the Installation • Lead residential plumbing installations from preparation through final completion., • Complete rough-in, trim-out, fixture installation, water distribution, DWV, and equipment installations., • Install and replace water heaters, fixtures, valves, pumps, PRVs, and related plumbing equipment., • Read and understand plans, drawings, scopes of work, and plumbing layouts., • Verify materials and equipment before beginning work., • Identify installation issues before they become costly problems., • Complete work correctly the first time and minimize callbacks. Lead the Crew • Direct apprentices and helpers throughout the installation., • Assign daily tasks and monitor progress., • Teach proper plumbing installation techniques and code requirements., • Hold crew members accountable for workmanship, safety, cleanliness, and productivity., • Set the example for attitude, professionalism, and work ethic., • Develop apprentices into capable, independent plumbers. Quality Control • Perform a complete quality check before requesting final inspection., • Pressure test and properly test completed plumbing systems., • Verify proper pipe sizing, support, slope, protection, and installation., • Check fixtures, valves, water heaters, drains, vents, and water distribution systems., • Complete the company's QCA/final inspection checklist., • Correct deficiencies before the job is considered complete., • Maintain a goal of zero avoidable callbacks. Customer Experience • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude while working in customers' homes., • Protect flooring, walls, cabinets, landscaping, and personal property., • Communicate clearly with homeowners about the work being performed., • Explain completed work and equipment operation when appropriate., • Leave the work area cleaner than it was found., • Represent the company with honesty, respect, and professionalism. ServiceTitan & Documentation • Use ServiceTitan for all required job documentation., • Review the assigned job, scope, notes, and materials before starting., • Document job progress, changes, issues, and completion., • Upload required photos and documentation., • Complete installation checklists and QCA forms., • Document materials used and additional work required., • Keep job notes clear enough that another employee can understand exactly what happened on the job. Safety & Code Compliance • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements., • Use proper PPE and safe work practices., • Maintain a clean and organized job site., • Follow applicable Georgia and local plumbing codes., • Follow manufacturer installation requirements., • Identify unsafe conditions and correct or report them immediately., • Never sacrifice safety or quality to save time. Jobsite Management • Maintain an organized truck, tools, and material inventory., • Verify materials before leaving for the job., • Coordinate material needs with the office or warehouse., • Maintain efficient workflow throughout the installation., • Communicate delays, material shortages, or jobsite problems immediately., • Coordinate with HVAC, electrical, construction, and other trades when necessary. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS A successful Lead Plumbing Installer consistently: • Shows up prepared and on time, • Leads by example, • Does the job right the first time, • Produces clean, professional workmanship, • Maintains excellent jobsite cleanliness, • Completes ServiceTitan documentation accurately, • Finishes installations on schedule, • Minimizes material waste, • Maintains excellent customer communication, • Develops apprentices and helpers, • Has a strong safety record, • Maintains low callback and warranty rates, • Takes ownership of the entire job MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • 5+ years of residential plumbing installation experience preferred., • Strong knowledge of residential plumbing systems., • Strong understanding of Georgia plumbing codes and applicable local requirements., • Ability to read plumbing plans and installation specifications., • Experience with PEX, copper, CPVC, PVC, and DWV systems., • Experience installing water heaters and plumbing fixtures., • Ability to troubleshoot installation problems., • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record., • Ability to use a smartphone/tablet and learn ServiceTitan., • Strong communication and leadership skills. Preferred: • Georgia Journeyman or Master Plumber license., • OSHA 10/30 certification., • Manufacturer certifications., • Experience leading plumbing installation crews., • ServiceTitan experience. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position requires the ability to: • Lift and carry plumbing materials and equipment., • Work in crawl spaces, attics, and confined areas., • Climb ladders and work at various heights., • Kneel, bend, squat, and stand for extended periods., • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions., • Safely handle plumbing tools and equipment.
