MPD was the first public defender organization under this system. MPD is the largest single provider of trial level public defense services in the state of Oregon, with offices in both Multnomah and Washington counties. The Attorney position provides court appointed criminal defense services in both Multnomah and Washington counties, Oregon. Attorneys who are assigned to a trial unit will review charging instruments and police reports and other discovery provided by the State. The Attorneys will meet with clients and learn the client’s goals for the representation and any special needs of the client. Attorneys then determine what further investigation to undertake and direct that investigation. Attorneys determine what legal issues need development, researches those issues, and presents them in the appropriate forum. The Attorney will negotiate with the State and promptly advise the client of the status of the negotiations. The Attorney will litigate any legal issues that are necessary and appropriate, including bringing cases to trial. The attorney will also conduct any post-trial litigation necessary such as sentencing and post-trial motions (excluding appeals.) Attorneys assigned to other units (specialty courts, juveniles) will also review documents provided by government agencies, discuss them with clients, and develop a strategy for representation in consultation with the client, and then carry out the representation in accordance with that strategy. WHAT YOU'LL DO: * Manage and develop the business development team, including the Business Development Manager(s), Business Development Specialists, Business Development Coordinators, and Business Development Associates. * Perform and manage research to identify and prioritize potential customers, expansion markets, new technologies and projects. * Prepare and execute business development action plans for specific target markets and projects as identified in the Marketing Plan. * Supervise the development of marketing materials. * Train and assist Business Development Associates to make effective presentations and proposals. * Serve as main liaison to prospective and current customers to ensure all needs are consistently met * Assist with and coordinate pre-construction activities throughout sales process and final close of sale. * Manage projects through all development stages, engaging from the start through construction completion to ensure satisfaction. * Provide budgeting assistance to customers as required. * Maintain and improve Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) * Plan, prepare, and host exhibit booths. * Coordinate and participate in travel to clients on a regular basis. * Attend professional societies and become involved. * The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY: The Project Manager I is a mid-level project management position responsible for overseeing projects from planning through completion and ensuring client satisfaction by delivering unparalleled service. Provides overall project management support for several small to medium projects or one large project supporting senior project management. WHAT YOU'LL DO: • Plan and organize a project under the direction of a Senior Project Manager and/or Division Manager., • Supervise and direct project activities, including assigning tasks to Assistant Project Managers, planning, coordinating, circumventing/resolving problem areas, and maintaining all company/project policies, procedures, standards, etc., • Provide project management expertise to establish initial client contact. This will include the assessment of the scope of work, schedule, and resources necessary to complete a project successfully., • Responsible for preparing a complete estimate for the selected project with a detailed review of plans, specifications, and bid form., • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the guidelines of corporate policies., • Supervise the preparation of all change orders on the project. Negotiate all change orders on the project., • Monitor construction activities with the onsite Foreman and Area Superintendent to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budget., • Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures within company guidelines and under supervision., • Supervise the preparation of all change quotations for presentation to the prime client and assist in negotiating all change quotations to a conclusion., • Prepare monthly costing reports under the supervision of a Senior PM or Division Manager., • Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationships with the client., • Review any documentation prepared by Assistant Project Manager before submission., • Represent the company in project meetings under the guidance of PM II or Sr. Project Manager., • The duties and responsibilities describe this position's general nature and scope of work.
