Job DescriptionJob Title: HVAC Service Technician Job Description This experienced HVAC Service Technician position offers stable, year-round work focused on high-quality service rather than sales. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial HVAC systems while building long-term relationships with customers in a supportive, family-oriented company environment. Responsibilities • Diagnose and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems with accuracy and efficiency., • Service and maintain furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps to ensure safe and reliable operation., • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, explaining issues, repair options, and recommendations in an understandable way., • Maintain an organized truck inventory and keep the service vehicle clean, safe, and fully stocked., • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner., • Document work performed, parts used, and system conditions accurately and thoroughly., • Follow company procedures and safety guidelines while working independently in the field., • Collaborate with team members and office staff to ensure efficient scheduling and excellent customer service.Essential Skills, • 4+ years of HVAC service experience preferred, with a focus on residential and light commercial systems., • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and related HVAC equipment., • Hands-on experience servicing HVAC systems, HVAC equipment, and performing HVAC service in the field., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively as part of a team., • Clear and professional communication skills when interacting with customers and colleagues., • Clean driving record and ability to safely operate a company vehicle., • EPA Certification required for handling refrigerants., • Solid understanding of HVAC system operation, safety practices, and industry standards.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • NATE Certification preferred., • Geothermal HVAC experience preferred., • Comfort using basic tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment for HVAC service work., • Strong organizational skills to maintain truck inventory and manage multiple service calls., • Reliability and flexibility to participate in a rotating on-call schedule., • Commitment to delivering honest, high-quality service without sales pressure.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is field-based, and you will report directly from home without needing to check in at a shop each day. Approximately 90% of the work involves residential HVAC service, with some light commercial work as needed. You will work around 45–50 hours per week and participate in a daily on-call rotation, requiring flexibility for occasional after-hours or weekend calls. The position involves driving a company vehicle, working in customers’ homes and small commercial spaces, and using standard HVAC tools, equipment, and diagnostic instruments in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions.
