Comprised of the two Educare Omaha Schools (Kellom and Indian Hill) and three Early Learning Centers (Skinner, Gateway and Kennedy), the mission of Educare of Omaha, Inc. is to promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children ages 0 to 5 through the provision of evidence-based education, health, nutritional, social, family engagement and other services to enrolled children and their families. ⭐ POSITION DETAILS The Food Aide II prepares and/or assists with the preparation of meals and snacks, delivers them to classrooms and school events, and ensures compliance with all applicable sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards. The position follows CACFP-established food production procedures, mentors Food Aides, and assists with ordering, storing and maintaining inventory of formula, milk products, food products, supplies and kitchen chemicals. It monitors food allergy and special-diet needs, provides comparable substitutions, completes required program paperwork and supports nutrition projects and staffing needs across sites. ???? LOCATION Serves all five of our schools (Educare Omaha at Kellom, Omaha Educare at Indian Hill, ELC Skinner, ELC Gateway, and ELC Kennedy) ???? SCHEUDLE Full Time (40 hours per week, Monday-Friday); 12 Months. The schedule will be 7:00AM-3:30PM but may vary between 7:00am-5:30pm. ⭐DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Mentor and support staff: Mentor Food Aide(s) under the guidance of the Food Services Manager., • Prepare meals and snacks: Prepare and assist with the preparation of meals and snacks for students and school events., • Deliver and organize food service: Deliver meals and snacks to classrooms and manage food distribution, ensuring servings and ingredients meet CACFP requirements., • Monitor dietary needs: Monitor food allergies and special diet needs and prepare comparable substitutions that meet CACFP requirements., • Maintain kitchen sanitation: Maintain kitchen sanitation standards by cleaning utensils, dishes and equipment on a scheduled basis., • Manage inventory and supplies: Order, receive, store and maintain inventories of formula, milk products, food products, supplies and kitchen chemicals; check in supplies and ensure a first-in-first-out inventory system., • Complete program documentation: Complete paperwork required for the nutrition program and CACFP and assist with monitoring compliance., • Consult and coordinate: Consult with staff on nutrition projects, healthy eating habits, family-style meals and CACFP guidelines., • Cover staffing needs: Assist with covering duties at other sites and within the school when needed, including laundry and cleaning/sanitization of toys. ⭐ EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS • High School Diploma or equivalent required., • Minimum of two or more years of job-related experience or training in institutional, hospital or childcare food services. Experience in food handling practices and CACFP compliance is preferred., • Proven skill in operating kitchen equipment (stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave and related equipment)., • Ability to complete necessary records and reports accurately and in a timely manner., • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification; SERV Safe., • Food Handlers certification within six months of hire; and a Food Handler certification if required., • Ability to communicate with others clearly, both verbally and in writing., • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to other sites as needed., • Must be able to pass a background check that meets compliance standards ⭐ WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU? ✔️ Generous Paid Time Off: • Up to 96 hours vacation and 96 hours sick time in your first year, • 10 paid holidays, including your birthday, • 2-week paid Winter Break, • 1-week paid Spring Break, • Starting at $18.50+ per hour (based on experience and tenure), • Medical premiums starting at $40.32 per paycheck, • No copays for mental health therapy, • Dental, vision, FSA, life insurance, short-term disability, and more, • Ongoing coaching and professional development, • Tuition assistance available, • No contracts Educare of Omaha, Inc. is committed to ensuring equal opportunity and non-discrimination in all hiring and employment practices.
