Job Description Works-in-Progress Associates (WPA) is currently seeking an experienced Superintendent to join our team! This position is in-person, Monday-Friday, 6pm – 2am shift, working at Jacobi Medical Center, 1400 Pelham Pkwy South, Building 1, Bronx, NY 10461 with an anticipated duration of 6-8 months. Scope of Work NYC H+H Jacobi Medical Center (JMC) is upgrading the entire fire alarm system throughout Building 1, meeting all code requirements. This includes complete replacement of the existing fire alarm system, removal of fire alarm panels, installation of new fire alarm devices, installing a post fire smoke purge system and pressurization system, installing a new Fire Alarm Command Center (FACC), and Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) upgrades throughout. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Daily coordination with Capital Projects team, • Daily Construction oversight including maintenance of project records, evaluations of means and methods, and periodic inspections., • Cost Management, • Negotiations, Change Order Reviews and Recommendations. Job Description Works-in-Progress Associates (WPA) is currently seeking a motivated Junior Project Manager to join our team! This project consists of the construction of a new LEED certified Jamaica Bus Depot facility located at 165-18 Tuskegee Airmen Way, Jamaica NY 11433. Project Description: Demolition of the existing Jamaica Bus Depot in its entirety and additional properties. The existing depot shall remain in operation until the new bus depot is constructed and fully operational. The new bus depot will consist of a one-story 26’ tall building, 134,000 SF on ground level and 5,200 SF on basement level, with parking for 300 SBE (Standard Bus Equivalent) parking spaces, three fueling lanes, three bus wash lanes, two interior bus wash stations, one chassis wash station, 15 maintenance bays and rooftop bus parking. A ramp will connect the ground floor to the rooftop parking level. The project will also include a three-level administrative building providing 7,600 SF of administrative space on the first and second floors, and the third floor would bridge over the at-grade bus parking area and extend to the main structure providing an additional 19,700 SF. A 31-foot-high sound barrier walls would be located on the south and west side of the depot. The project also includes the construction of a Temporary Parking Lot (location to be determined): convert a property into a temporary paved bus parking area to accommodate at least 170 buses from the Jamaica Bus Depot. The proposed parking lot will be designed to meet environmentally conscious design regulations with respect to storm water management. Job Description Works-in-Progress Associates (WPA) is currently seeking a Junior Inspector to join our team! The project involves Design-Build activities to develop, furnish, commission, and install a Laser Intrusion Detection System (LIDS) at 13 under river tube portals and 28 stations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, and Queens. The candidate must be flexible regarding work schedule and open to working nights and weekends. Scope of the Work: • Installation laser scanner for the LIDS in the Project’s thirteen (13) under river tubes and twenty-eight (28) stations at both portals and emergency exit shafts at the track level access point. Removal of existing motion detectors and sensors that the laser scanner portion of the LIDS will replace as intrusion detection. Installation of tamper-resistant card readers and internet protocol (IP) intercoms at all approaches outside of the laser scanner’s detection area, to allow MTA employees access without triggering LIDS’s alarm., • Removal of existing analog cameras at some Work Sites to be replaced with IP-cameras, to be connected to new/or existing Network Panels., • Upgrade/replace Access Control Panels (ACP) and Fiber Distribution Panels (FDP), with panels located in the tubes, emergency exit shafts, and at the End of Platform at the twenty-nine (29) stations. The ACP – both new and upgraded – will include equipment for the new LIDS and tamper resistant switches on enclosures and cyber locks. At certain locations, Access Control/Fiber Distribution Panel may be combined in place of 2 separate panels.
