Day to DayAs a Transportation Engineer Project Manager, you will be responsible for: • Managing a variety of multimodal transportation projects, including complete streets, bikeway design, and pedestrian improvements., • Developing high-quality design documents, including Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) for bid-ready packages., • Participating in site visits to investigate existing conditions, observe construction activities, and inform design decisions., • Leading and supporting project coordination meetings with clients and consultants., • Collaborating with internal teams to prepare proposals, scope of work documents, and technical graphics for grant applications and other planning activities., • 8+ years of experience as a Transportation Engineer in a consulting environment or public entity, • 2+ years of experience with project management, including coordinating teams, preparing scopes of work, budgets, and schedules., • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field from an ABET/EAC-accredited program., • Professional Engineer (PE) license., • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation; experience with Civil 3D, OpenRoads, • Experience with DOT and Federally funded design projects is strongly desired, • Strong background in transportation design, including experience with multimodal transportation solutions, complete streets, bikeway design, pedestrian improvements, and related projects., • Ability to design, manage, and deliver project tasks such as geometric layout, grading, storm drainage, green infrastructure, traffic control plans, construction staging, and more., • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams., • Proven ability to lead or coordinate project tasks, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines and budget constraints.Preferred:, • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field., • Familiarity with Deltek Vision or similar project management software. Job Description Performs Transmission Planning studies including steady-state power flow, transient/dynamic system analysis (including EMT), and/or system harmonic and power quality assessments. Provides technical expertise and analytical support for the transmission planning activities of the Corporation by performing transmission planning studies and evaluating electrical alternatives to support transmission system reliability. Supports Corporate regulatory compliance for transmission planning and related functions. Responsibilities • Perform power system modeling and analysis in assigned areas using industry standard and custom software, • Develop and coordinate transmission solutions that promote system reliability and resiliency, • Develop technical reports, capital project scopes and justifications, and other procedural documentation, • Participate in industry committees and transmission planning collaboratives with other electric entities as assigned, • Coordinate with capital project development and budgeting processes Qualifications • BSEE, Power Systems, required, Licensed PE and an advanced degree in Power Systems Engineering, preferred, • 6-8+ years of electric utility power systems analysis or planning focused on transmission system planning, • Proven experience with power system transmission analysis tools such as PSSE, TARA, EMT, PSCAD or other similar analysis software, • Effective communicator who develops relationships, works cross-functionally and communicates persuasively, • Strong understanding of electrical engineering concepts such as reliability, load flow, stability, short circuit, voltage regulation, transients, etc., • Must be able to pass a NERC CIP personnel risk assessment screening.
