OVERVIEW: This position operates with guidance and assistance from the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for managing the day-to-day safe operations of the IRHFH ReStore and protecting its assets. The ReStore Operations Manager generates revenue, meets budgets, and maintains profitability objectives to fund the mission through the effective acquisition, management, and marketing of ReStore products. ReStore Operations Manager must effectively collaborate and build a network to recruit and retain a high-quality team of staff and volunteers who are not only vested in the mission but also provide a positive donor, customer and volunteer experience. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES A. Planning and Organization • Manage and support the Retail & Merchandising Manager (RMM) and the Logistics Warehouse Manager (LWM) to drive sales and efficient store operations. Communicates plans and priorities for monthly sales promotions, donation procurement, truck scheduling, and product processing., • Partner with the RMM and LWM to plan, prepare and communicate project assignments to group leaders and volunteers to create a meaningful Habitat ReStore experience., • Partner with LWM, RMM, Finance, and Development Team for logistics and donation follow-up., • Manage donations, repairs, testing, pricing, and re-stocking. Communicates team priorities., • Identify gaps/problems/concerns and bring to the attention of the CFO & CEO as required., • Schedule to the needs of the business by creating staff, volunteer, and truck schedules for efficient operations and customer service., • Enhance the value of the donations. Plan sales floor space to increase the dollars per square foot and stock productivity. Oversee store merchandising and display, arranging items to drive sales, improve visibility, and to ensure appropriate stock turnover., • Plan warehouse space and donation process flow for greatest efficiency and to optimize pallet racking, accessibility, and sales. Keeps pallet count of inventory in the warehouse and backyard, fixtures, and equipment. Ensure first in, first out of stock movement to the floor., • Train and lead team in donation processing, material handling, and pricing to drive sales and get the most revenue from recycling. Manage inventory, address turnover of aging stock., • Maintain physical facilities, vehicles, and equipment. Ensure preventive maintenance and repairs for vehicles, equipment, and systems. Audit and keep service, repair, and safety records., • Manage the Customer Service on the Front end with RMM, cashiers and sales assistants. Support selling, donation and delivery functions, and the cashier checkout functions., • Share Leader on Duty assignments and opening/ closing store routines with RMM and LWM managers as required. Maintain safety and security of the building interior and exterior., • Protect ReStore assets by monitoring security cameras, POS systems, alarm codes, pickup and deliveries for any anomalies. Promptly report suspicious activity to CFO to reduce loss. C. Business Administration & Record Keeping • Prepares business reports recapping sales, donor, and customer information. Reviews data and makes informed decisions which guide actions to drive sales, donations, and volunteer engagement. Presents information to the CFO and CEO for leading the business., • Tracks deconstruction donations and sales for accurate donor receipts and tax documents., • Ensures POS credit card and sales data processes efficiently and bank cash deposits are posted timely. Perform petty cash audit and support cashier functions minimizing loss., • Track sales and income from all sources. Oversee proper documentation and department sales entries in the master sales spreadsheets from POS system. Captures data for historical record for sales, deconstruction, expense, customer, donor, and volunteer reporting., • Uses the IRHFH timekeeping system to create employee shift schedules, approve time-off request, and review and approve employee timecards to ensure accuracy and compliance., • Approve and ensure accurate coding and submit payable invoices to accounting on a timely basis. Ensure expenditures are within acceptable limits and seek approval when required., • Maintain confidentiality of customer and donor personal information in all transactions., • Work with Volunteer Coordinator & Director of Development for volunteer orientations and onboarding to maintain records. Ensure donor and volunteer thank you notes, receipts, and hours, where necessary, are issued in a timely manner. D. General Responsibilities for Operations, HR, Public Relations, and Marketing • Build team competency and train team on ReStore best practices for consistent performance. Monitor workload and task lists for proper completion. Assess knowledge and skills of volunteers and staff, assign tasks, and train them as necessary for skill and proficiency Supervise staff and volunteers ensuring their adherence to policies and procedures., • Create a positive and respectful culture with consistent communication and recognition of good performance and achievement of goals., • Work with Volunteer Coordinator to recruit suitable volunteers. Engage and inspire volunteers with good onboarding, mentoring, and training. Maximize program volunteers., • Conduct performance reviews on subordinates. Coach and address staff performance., • Maintain a safe work environment for customers, staff, and volunteers to minimize liability., • Oversee development of polices & procedures for effective store operations, safety, and customer service, • Assist the development staff in planning and implementing public relations store events. Represents the ReStore and the affiliate in the community. Prepares and delivers presentations to various audiences including businesses, CFO, CEO, and the Board for approval or support., • Supports development staff in advertising development and implementing instore marketing and special events to build customer and donor loyalty to and awareness of the ReStore brand., • Keep CFO informed appropriately and timely of operational and financial matters., • Attending staff and other meetings as required, • Other duties as assigned by the CFO and/or President. Requirements: REQUIREMENTS This individual must have a strong commitment and calling to Habitat, its mission and Core Volunteer. Qualified candidates must possess above-average written and verbal communication and have strong computer skills. Public speaking experience required. Must possess strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, and the ability to multi-task. This individual must be detail-oriented and able to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to deal with all kinds of individuals and remain consistent in keeping a professional demeanor. Occasional travel may be required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds and be required to bend, squat, lift and carry out repetitive motion. This position will occasionally be exposed to extremes in weather. EXPERIENCE A minimum of 5 years of related experience required. Must have demonstrated independent responsibility for program management and accomplishing results. Experience supervising staff required. EDUCATION BA or BS preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS Must have a valid driver’s license and be a legal resident of the United States.
