About the Role We are looking for a Community Support Coordinator to join our team and play an important role in supporting CACs mission. In this position, you will: What Youll Be Responsible For Your day-to-day may include: • Support the daily operations of the Community Support department, ensuring workflows are efficient, consistent, and aligned with organizational priorities, • Oversee intake diversion, resource distribution, and community-based programming to ensure seamless service delivery, • Identify operational gaps or inefficiencies and provide recommendations and solutions to the Community Support Manager, • Ensure accurate documentation, data entry, and case tracking across all Community Support functions, • Serve as a lead case manager for complex or high-need community cases, providing guidance and support to staff, • Provide direct support to community members through consultations, home visits, and resource navigation as needed, • Ensure follow-through and continuity of care across all cases, maintaining high standards of service and accountability, • Support animal intake diversion efforts by identifying and implementing alternatives to surrender, • Oversee and support the planning and execution of community programs, including vaccine clinics, resource distribution, and outreach events, • Ensure programs are accessible, equitable, and aligned with community needs, • Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements or expansion opportunities based on data and trends, • Build and maintain relationships with community partners to expand program reach and impact, • Provide guidance, coaching, and day-to-day support to Community Support Specialists and Leads, • Assist in training new staff and volunteers, ensuring consistency in service delivery and adherence to best practices, • Reinforce departmental expectations around customer service, data collection, and case management, • Act as a resource for staff in navigating challenging or complex community interactions, • Track and analyze program data and key performance indicators to evaluate effectiveness and identify trends, • Support the development and implementation of data-driven initiatives to improve outcomes and reduce intake, • Ensure data integrity across systems and support staff in accurate and consistent data entry, • Provide insights and regular updates to the Community Support Manager to inform strategic decision-making, • Work closely with Outcomes, Foster, Medical, Behavior, and Animal Care teams to support intake diversion and holistic solutions for pets and families, • Serve as a liaison between Community Support and other departments to ensure alignment and communication, • Support organization-wide initiatives that impact intake, population management, and community engagement, • Supporting additional organizational needs as they arise What Makes Someone Successful in This Role Were looking for someone who: • Is passionate about CACs mission and animal welfare, • Brings a positive, team-first attitude, • Communicates openly and professionally, • Takes ownership and solves problems proactively, • Thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, • Can balance compassion with accountability, • Is dependable, adaptable, and eager to learn Qualifications Preferred/Required: • 23+ years of experience in animal welfare, social services, or community-based programming, • Experience in case management and/or program development, oversight, or coordination, • Strong understanding of community-based animal welfare, intake diversion strategies, and proactive support interventions, • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and apply insights to improve programs and client outcomes, • Experience supporting, mentoring, or training staff preferred, • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, • Ability to manage complex, sensitive situations with professionalism, empathy, and discretion, • Skilled at navigating fast-paced, dynamic environments and prioritizing tasks effectively, • Ability to coach, guide, and support staff or volunteers constructively, • Confident and safe handling of animals of all sizes, breeds, and species, • Ability to safely restrain animals and manage challenging behaviors, • Exercises sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy in decision-making, client interactions, and program guidance, • Proficient in using computers, including Google Workspace, for documentation, communication, and data tracking, • Ability to interpret, apply, and execute both verbal and written instructions accurately, • Able to remain active and engaged for extended periods, including standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility, • Ability to safely lift and move animals and supplies weighing 30 pounds or more, • Resilient, solutions-oriented, and maintains a positive outlook when managing difficult or emotionally challenging situations Why Join CAC?
