Job Description About This Role We’re looking for a caring, energetic, and dependable Assistant Teacher to join our daycare learning center team! In this role, you’ll help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. You’ll support lead teachers with daily classroom activities, encourage positive social and emotional development, and assist with hands-on learning experiences that spark creativity and curiosity. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, communicates well with families and staff, and brings patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to the classroom every day. What You'll Do • Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson plans, • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, • Help create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment, • Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and educational development, • Prepare classroom materials and maintain cleanliness and organization, • Encourage positive behavior and assist with classroom management, • Help children with meals, hygiene, and daily routines as needed, • Communicate professionally with parents and staff members, • Follow all daycare policies, procedures, and safety regulations Requirements High school diploma or GED required; coursework or certification in Early Childhood Education is preferred Previous experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or classroom setting is a plus Passion for working with children and supporting their growth and development Ability to create a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment Strong communication and teamwork skills Patience, creativity, and a caring attitude Ability to assist with classroom activities, supervision, meal times, and daily routines Must be dependable, punctual, and professional Ability to lift, carry, and actively engage with children throughout the day CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain Must pass background checks and meet all state licensing requirements for childcare staff Nice To Haves Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field CPR, First Aid, and child safety certifications Experience working in a licensed daycare, preschool, or early learning center Knowledge of age-appropriate lesson planning and classroom management techniques Familiarity with state childcare licensing standards and regulations Creative skills such as music, art, storytelling, or sensory-based learning activities Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Positive, upbeat personality with a passion for early childhood education Ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and team members Experience using childcare apps or classroom communication tools Flexible schedule and willingness to assist in multiple classrooms when needed Leadership potential and interest in professional growth within early childhood education Benefits • Child Care Discount, • Professional Development Paid sick and vacations after probation period.
