Job DescriptionArt Teacher/Paraprofessional Location: Glendale Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract Salary Range: $40,000-$50,000 annually HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE AT SUN VALLEY ACADEMY In this unique hybrid role, you will serve primarily as the Art Teacher, while also supporting campus-wide instructional needs as a Paraprofessional. You will inspire students through creative expression while also providing hands-on classroom support to ensure student success across learning environments. You are a creative, flexible, and student-centered educator who thrives in a collaborative setting. You are passionate about the arts, but also enjoy supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally throughout the school day. You will have your own dedicated art classroom, serving as the primary instructor for art; however, the space may occasionally be shared with staff for art-related activities. As the Art Teacher, you will: • Develop students' interest and ability in creative expression using a variety of artistic techniques and media., • Design and deliver engaging art lessons aligned with school guidelines and student needs., • Create and implement lesson plans, assign tasks, and evaluate student progress., • Foster an appreciation and understanding of the visual arts., • Maintain a safe, effective, and ethical classroom environment., • Supervise students and ensure their safety at all times., • Use professional judgment in managing classroom behavior and dynamics., • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues., • Maintain professionalism and ethical standards at all times., • Perform other job duties as assigned.PARAPROFESSIONAL SUPPORT:, • Provide instructional support to teachers across classrooms as assigned, • Work with small groups and individual students to reinforce learning, • Assist with classroom management and behavior support, • Support student supervision during transitions, recess, lunch, and dismissal, • Help prepare instructional materials and maintain classroom organization, • Assist with recordkeeping, grading support, and testing administration, • Support students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities, • Use office equipment and materials properly and in a safe manner., • Perform basic math skills and functions., • Strong oral and written communication skills., • Read a variety of manuals and documents., • Writes in a coherent and professional manner., • Present information to others., • Knowledge of office management procedures, • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines, • Bachelor's Degree in Art, Art Education, or a related field., • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card., • Arizona Teaching Certificate, or Reciprocal Out-Of-State Certificate., • Positions in this classification typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, fingering, standing, walking, pushing, reaching, lifting, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions., • Employees must be subject to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
