This is not a role for just reviewing work and giving feedback. The ideal candidate must be able to write sharp scripts, visualize scenes before they are shot, confidently direct talent and crew, edit for pacing and attention, and make humor feel smart, not cheesy, as video production is currently the biggest gap the new hire will close. Responsibilities: • Immediately (Months 1-3), • Take ownership of video creative across brands — from script to final cut, • Write scripts and develop storyboards for social, paid, and hero campaigns, • Direct video shoots (internal and external crews) with confidence and clarity, • Establish tone for humorous, bold, attention-grabbing creative that avoids cliché, • Partner with the brand team to translate campaign strategy into compelling motion storytelling, • Audit our current creative output and identify gaps in production quality, pacing, and tone, • Begin building a repeatable pre-production and post-production workflow, • Building Momentum (Months 3-12), • Develop a scalable video content engine (social-first, paid, and brand), • Establish strong scripting, storyboarding, and shot-list frameworks, • Build production standards for pacing, hook creation, and retention in short-form content, • Hire and mentor a videographer/editor and supporting creative roles, • Oversee graphic designers across packaging, retail signage, digital, and brand systems, • Pitch bold concepts to executive leadership and confidently defend your creative direction, • Manage agencies and freelancers with a production-first mindset, • Scaling Impact (Year 2+), • Lead a 6–8 person creative team across video, design, and production, • Own creative production planning and budgeting with the CMO, • Establish our brands as known for humorous, culturally sharp creative, • Build a production machine that delivers consistent, scroll-stopping video at scale, • 7+ years in creative leadership roles with strong video production experience, • Demonstrated experience writing scripts and storyboarding campaigns, • Directing experience (commercial, branded, or social content), • Strong understanding of short-form video pacing and retention mechanics, • Ability to produce humor that feels intelligent and culturally aware, • Experience leading designers, videographers, and editors, • Proven track record managing agencies and freelance production partners, • Hands-on editing or art direction skills (Adobe Suite, Final Cut, etc.), • Strong presentation skills — you can sell big ideas and articulate creative rationale, • Experience building or scaling a video-first content engine, • Understand how to make "boring" categories entertaining, • Understand hooks, pattern interrupts, and platform-native storytelling, • Ability to balance brand-building and performance marketing needs, • Experience developing characters, recurring creative devices, or creative platforms, • Experience working with mascots or character-driven brands, • Experience in DTC environments, • Familiarity of motion graphics or animation Our benefits include Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage to ensure your well-being.
