Position Overview CMCOM is seeking a highly qualified Senior Infrastructure Compliance & Design Review Advisor, PE/RA Preferred to support a major transportation and public-facility assignment involving construction document review, building code compliance, Tenant Alteration Application processing, design audit coordination, and multi-discipline technical review. The selected professional will review construction drawings, calculations, specifications, reports, and technical submissions for completeness, coordination, constructability, code compliance, and compliance with applicable Port Authority, owner, and public-agency facility standards. The role also includes coordinating review comments from architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, life safety, accessibility, and other technical disciplines. This position is well-suited for a PE, RA, construction professional, design review consultant, code compliance advisor, or infrastructure specialist with experience supporting complex transportation-related facilities such as Port Authority facilities, airports, MTA, NJ Transit, rail/transit, terminals, public buildings, seaport, marine, aviation, and infrastructure environments. Candidates with NDT coordination, inspection support, construction quality assurance, and field-based infrastructure review experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Description of Services The Senior Infrastructure Compliance & Design Review Advisor will support construction document review and project processing services for tenant, facility, and infrastructure-related projects at major transportation and public agency facilities. Services include: • Reviewing construction documents for tenant, facility, and infrastructure projects, • Processing Tenant Alteration Application submissions, • Supporting design audit and technical review activities, • Reviewing drawings, calculations, specifications, reports, and technical submissions, • Evaluating documents for code compliance, completeness, coordination, constructability, and owner-standard compliance, • Coordinating review comments from architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, life safety, accessibility, and other disciplines, • Preparing written memoranda, comment packages, technical correspondence, and review summaries, • Assigning or coordinating discipline reviews for code and standards compliance, • Communicating with facility representatives, tenants, reviewers, consultants, and project stakeholders, • Supporting workflow tracking, document control, submission review status, comment resolution, and project processing activities, • Helping ensure submitted documents comply with building codes, owner standards, and transportation-facility requirements Minimum Requirements Candidates must demonstrate: • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field, • Minimum five years of diverse experience in building codes, building systems, construction document review, code compliance, design review, or related public facility work, • Strong understanding of architectural and engineering disciplines related to building design and construction, • Experience reviewing drawings, calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents, • Understanding of transportation facilities, public buildings, infrastructure facilities, or complex operational environments, • Strong written and verbal communication skills, • Ability to act as liaison between tenants, facility representatives, design professionals, technical reviewers, and project stakeholders, • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, • Ability and interest to learn project/document management systems such as SharePoint, Trimble Unity, eBuilder, or similar platforms, • Ability to work in a hybrid environment and support coordination with facilities in the New York/New Jersey region Preferred Qualifications CMCOM strongly encourages candidates with the following qualifications to apply: • Professional Engineer license or Registered Architect license in New York and/or New Jersey, • 15–20+ years of construction, architecture, engineering, code compliance, design review, public-agency facility, or infrastructure experience, • Prior experience supporting the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, • Experience with seaport, airport, MTA, NJ Transit, rail/transit, terminal, aviation, marine, or transportation-related facilities, • Experience with NDT / non-destructive testing coordination, inspection support, structural quality review, or construction quality assurance, • Experience reviewing Tenant Alteration Applications, permit packages, design audit submissions, owner-controlled construction submissions, or agency review packages, • Familiarity with building codes, life safety, accessibility, fire protection, MEP systems, structural systems, and multi-discipline coordination, • Experience working in active operational environments, including airports, ports, rail/transit stations, terminals, maintenance facilities, bridges, tunnels, and transportation buildings, • Strong ability to identify code, constructability, coordination, completeness, documentation, and compliance issues in construction documents, • Experience preparing written technical comments, formal review memoranda, and stakeholder correspondence Specialized Transportation and Public Facility Experience Highly relevant experience includes: • Port Authority facility projects, • Seaport and marine terminal facilities, • Airport terminal, airside, landside, and support facility projects, • MTA, NJ Transit, Amtrak, rail, subway, bus, and transit facility projects, • Transportation-related buildings, terminals, maintenance facilities, and public infrastructure assets, • NDT inspection coordination and construction quality support, • Structural, architectural, civil, MEP, fire protection, life safety, and accessibility review, • Public-agency document control, code compliance, quality assurance, and technical review procedures, • Field coordination in operational environments where safety, continuity of operations, and stakeholder communication are critical Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a senior PE, RA, construction professional, design review consultant, code compliance advisor, or infrastructure specialist who can review complex construction documents and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders. The candidate should be disciplined, detail-oriented, solutions-focused, and comfortable working across disciplines, resolving review comments, supporting owner standards, and maintaining professional workflow in a high-accountability public-agency environment. Work Schedule and Location • Monday–Friday, • 40 hours per week, • Hybrid assignment with on-site and/or remote work as directed, • Facility coordination may be required within the New York/New Jersey metropolitan region, • Work Location: Hybrid remote – Jersey City, NJ / New York-New Jersey Metropolitan Area Other Requirements Candidates must: • Be available for a full-time consultant assignment, • Support Port Authority/public facility review procedures, • Be comfortable reviewing technical documents and coordinating with multiple stakeholders, • Submit a current resume, • Submit PE/RA license information, • Submit relevant certificates, project experience, and availability, • Provide desired hourly compensation within the posted range Compensation Pay Range: $85–$120 per hour Final compensation will depend on PE or RA license status, years of relevant experience, Port Authority, seaport, airport, MTA, NJ Transit, or transportation facility experience, building code and construction document review background, NDT, inspection, quality assurance, or construction compliance experience, and ability to support senior-level communication, technical review, and project processing responsibilities.
