Department/Unit: Emergency Medicine General Work Shift: Per Diem (United States of America) Salary Range: $78,773.63 - $122,099.12 The clinical research coordinator is responsible for the organization and management of multiple industry sponsored and Investigator initiated clinical trials. The position is accountable for assisting in the timely and accurate conduct of research studies, being concerned primarily for the protection and care of the patient as a research patient from initiation to completion of study. Activities include participating in the study start up and termination procedures, working with study participants in various study tasks including patient recruitment, screening for eligibility, scheduling, physical assessments and biospecimen collection and processing, as well as data collection and study completion activities. The research coordinator serves as the liaison between PI and research site and the study sponsor and other vendors working on the trial. B. Pre-Study Initiation 1. Prepare the patient informed consent (ICF) and assent (if applicable) by inserting the AMC required language into the sponsors ICF template and submitting to the sponsor for approval prior to IRB submission 10. Prepare for study site initiation visit a. Obtain the appropriate signatures and dates/time on the ICF form and documents the process and file a copy in the patient’s medical record. Assures that patients sign any future amended versions of the consent if applicable. 2. Applicant must have 2+ years of med/surg, intermediate or ICU experience. The Surgical and Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (SICU and Neuro ICU) has a combined total of 30 intensive care beds designed to provide specialized care to the critically ill adult (14 and older) patient. The unit has a usual 50/50 split of patient population between the neuro and surgical patient population. The focus of care includes patients with life-threatening conditions related to major elective and emergency surgical procedures, multi-trauma, traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, stroke, seizure, sepsis/multi-organ system failure, hemodynamic instability and failure to wean. The SICU and Neuro ICU patient needs encompass but are not limited to comprehensive physical assessments, intensive monitoring, treatment of laboratory values, ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring. SICU-Neuro ICU nurses require the following skill set – ICP monitoring via EVD and bolt, spinal drains/catheters, brain oxygen monitoring, Artic Sun therapy, continuous EEG, intra-arterial catheter, non-invasive cardiac output, mechanical ventilation, continuous renal replacement therapy, reconstructive flap monitoring, and massive blood transfusion among others. Hourly Min= $15.00 Hourly Max= $20.00 Job Description • Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures and special tests, and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations., • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions., • Assesses and evaluates patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered., • Applies sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions., • Provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses., • Administers over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered., • Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients., • Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.
