You will be responsible for creating and managing the lines through the development cycle and helping to bring your creations to life once the production cycle has started! Responsibilities: Development Cycle • Thorough knowledge of the Outdoor, Fishing, and Golf apparel markets. Pass off any factory ready artwork files (graphics and prints) and fabric standards to follow per order., • Attend all production fittings for the product through first fit to PP/TOP stage, advise fit comments to the tech to ensure the garment meets customer and brand fit requirements., • Work with the production manager throughout the production cycle as they review fabric and trim approvals with you to ensure product maintains the same look and quality as the garment originally sold. JOB SUMMARY The Assistant Director Receiving & Refuse Operations is responsible for overseeing programs related to refuse, recycling, and waste management operations at Grand Central Terminal (GCT). This position ensures safe, efficient, and compliant refuse removal services in support of 24/7 terminal operations, customer experience, and regulatory requirements. This position manages a staff, the operations of the Depew Place Loading Dock, freight elevators (SE1 & SE2), track 14 Trash facility, the Unified Trash facility (Track 115), coordinates with contractors, and works closely with Operations, Engineering, Safety, and Environmental departments to maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of the terminal. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Supervise the safe, secure, and efficient handling of deliveries for both Metro-North and the Terminal’s tenants by designing, creating, and implementing the use of an electronic logbook to document all loading dock activities. Responsible for coordinating with the GCT Retail Managing Agent and the handling of receiving documentation associated with both Metro-North and tenant deliveries. Ensure that valuable and/or perishable goods are delivered safely and quickly to the tenants. In cooperation with Metro-North’s Safety Department, supervise the handling of any hazardous materials that use the Loading Dock. Ensure that procedures used are in accordance with all Company, City, State, and Federal regulations, rules, and guidelines. Ensure that the Loading Dock and elevators are properly staffed with qualified personnel, well-maintained, and are regularly cleaned to an acceptable standard., • Supervise the trash handling operation for both Metro-North, Long Island Railroad, and the terminal’s tenants by designing and maintaining documentation relating to the use and servicing of the compactors, to ensure appropriate billing to tenants for trash removal. Manage contract with trash hauler, notifying the selected vendor when compactors require either repair or maintenance. Maintain electronic records regarding the maintenance and repair of the compactors. Monitor and keep records of all trash and recycle cars from the trash facility. Coordinate with Transportation for railcar load-out., • Manage the BN Yard (Bronx North) Trash Facility to ensure correct handling of containers and compactors by MNR employees and 3rd party vendors/contractors, visiting the yard as needed, to ensure the timely handling of the trash at BN Yard by the selected trash hauling vendor. Conduct routine inspections of refuse rooms, compactor area, loading docks, and storage location to ensure proper housekeeping., • Monitor and coordinate exterminating services for GCT by interacting with the MNR exterminating contractor, attending regular exterminating meetings, and managing the contracts for exterminators/pest control., • Develop and manage a new 24/7 Trouble Desk at either Depew Loading dock or Track 115 Dock Master office, which will receive calls from different departments when defects arise, or maintenance is needed. Maintain records of inspections, training, incidents, and contractor performance. Participate in management meetings and operational planning initiatives., • Select, develop, and motivate staff and provide career development for team members. RESPONSIBILITIES • Directly handle and manage in-house attorneys and staff and outside counsel that handle, high volume personal injury and/or property damage claims during all phases of litigation, including hearings, depositions, discovery, substantive and procedural motion practice, court conferences, settlement negotiations, and trials., • Critically analyze personal injury and property damage claims and develop, implement and oversee litigation assignments and strategies designed to achieve the most favorable and cost-effective resolutions in conformance with the most current legal precedent and ethical considerations., • Accurately assess liability and damages exposure, and make and review appropriate reserve and settlement recommendations., • Keep senior management informed of high-exposure cases and consult with senior management to develop litigation strategies designed to reduce tort exposure., • Effectively communicate and interact with external departments (i.e.: operations, courts)., • Provide guidance and direction to in-house attorneys and legal staff., • Oversee and manage outside counsel., • Assist in the business goals of the MTA Legal Dept. in whatever manner as required by the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel – Torts., • Perform other duties as assigned by senior management. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: A law degree from an accredited law school and admission to the New York State Bar. A minimum of nine (9) years of significant personal injury litigation experience, with experience measured in terms of ultimate responsibility for the handling of significant numbers of serious matters, together with four (4) years of managerial or equivalent supervisory experience.Extensive knowledge of local, State, and Federal substantive and procedural laws and regulations which impact tort litigation. PREFERRED: Admission to the District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York is desirable. Experience defending municipalities, corporate entities and/or common carriers and experience litigating tort claims involving motor vehicle accidents and premises liability is strongly preferred. Project Achieve trains professionals, parents, and youth on the rights of students in foster care; secures services for students in foster care whose educational needs are not being met; and builds upon our on-the-ground experience to advocate for policy changes that will benefit all students in the City's foster system. The Assistant Project Director will partner with the project's Director, Senior Education Specialist, and Staff Attorney to support all aspects of Project Achieve, including providing legal representation to individual students, consulting with foster care agency staff, delivering trainings, and engaging in policy advocacy at the state and local level. The Assistant Project Director will also work closely with New York City Public School's Foster Care Office and representatives from the Administration for Children's Services, the Bureau of Early Intervention, and other external stakeholders. This position will report to the director of Project Achieve.
