Position Description The Women’s National Team Athletic Trainer works collaboratively within the interdisciplinary team to support the implementation of elite-level player health, safety, performance, and well-being services. As a member of the Integrated Performance Support Team, they engage with staff across the Sporting ecosystem to deliver world-class performance support delivered through the female lens. The Athletic Trainer plays an important role in building a positive environment for players and staff and contributes to the design and delivery of the WNT/WYNT strategy, the Goldprint for Winning and U.S. Soccer’s Female 360 initiatives. Primary Responsibilities Player Care • Support the in-camp delivery of athletic training services, integrating known injury risk patterns, recovery timelines, and availability considerations relevant to elite women’s soccer., • Assist with the development and implementation of individualized prehab, movement, and recovery programs, accounting for positional demands, movement profiles, load tolerance, and individual symptom presentation., • Assist with return-to-performance protocols in coordination with technical, performance, and medical staff, ensuring progression reflects validated rehabilitation principles, competition demands, and tournament timelines., • Provide on-field and clinical medical coverage for all training, games, and senior team-related activities, ensuring timely injury recognition, management, and communication within established governance structures., • Support mental health guidance and referral, operating within scope of practice and collaborating with designated mental health providers to ensure appropriate escalation and confidentiality., • Manage concussion protocols and emergency action plans ensuring alignment with best practice and clear communication pathways., • Apply therapeutic and protective taping for practices and competition., • Work collaboratively with medical, performance, and technical staff to manage player availability, supporting sustainable performance across camp and competition schedules., • Contribute medical insights to structured availability reporting processes to inform training, selection, and competition planning., • Maintain audit-ready, confidential medical documentation in accordance with USSF governance standards, ensuring appropriate consent, timely entry, and clear medical-performance data boundaries., • Ensure compliance with U.S. Soccer and medical standards., • Assist with athletic training supplies, equipment inventory, and budgeting., • Assist with planning and execution of US Soccer’s Female Health & Performance 360 Assessments., • Participate in club communication pre and post camp., • Undertake a progressive and ongoing personal and professional developmental process, attending and participating in in-house CPD sessions and external sessions., • Undertake regular performance appraisals to review your personal development plan and on and off camp progress with WNT Leadership and line manager. About the Role This is a dual role in which the individual will act as both the onsite Performance Health Coach (PHC) and Member Experience Coordinator (MEX). Acting as the initial point of contact for our clients (patients), your primary role is to ensure our patients have an exceptional 5-star experience. Wearing your PHC hat, you are responsible for educating our members on proper nutrition and exercise regimens based on individual health and lifestyle assessments, current laboratory findings, and results of on-site diagnostic studies. Key responsibilities include completing initial consultations with each patient, revising the patient’s intake forms to create a custom approach to their dietary and exercise regimen, managing patient interactions via various communication methods including health coach application, SMS messaging systems and video conferencing to provide health, nutrition and exercise consultations and support for our growing patient base.
