Job DescriptionFacilities Maintenance Technician About the Role We are seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the operation and reliability of mission-critical infrastructure within a large-scale data center environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong electrical, mechanical, and HVAC expertise who thrives in a structured, high-reliability setting. You will play a key role in maintaining uninterrupted operations by performing preventative and corrective maintenance, executing critical system procedures, and ensuring the overall health of facility systems. Key Responsibilities • Operate & Maintain Critical Systems: Monitor and maintain electrical infrastructure including UPS, PDUs, ATS, generators, and switchgear, • HVAC & Mechanical Systems: Troubleshoot and service CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, AHUs, and boiler systems, • Preventative Maintenance: Execute scheduled maintenance programs to ensure system performance and reduce downtime risk, • Corrective Maintenance: Diagnose failures, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs, • System Monitoring: Track environmental conditions and equipment performance to ensure stable operations, • Operational Procedures: Safely perform system startups, shutdowns, and load transfers per established protocols, • Inspections & Reporting: Conduct detailed system inspections and document risks, deficiencies, and corrective actions, • Procedure Development: Create, review, and execute Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and system changes, • Stakeholder Communication: Provide timely updates on system status, incidents, and potential risks, • Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety standards and operational best practices in a mission-critical environmentRequired Qualifications, • 7+ years of experience in a data center or other mission-critical environment, • Strong hands-on expertise with electrical systems (UPS, PDUs, ATS, generators, switchgear), • Extensive experience with HVAC and mechanical systems (CRAC/CRAH, chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, pumps), • Proven experience performing preventative and corrective maintenance, • Ability to perform system startups, shutdowns, and load transfers safely and accurately, • Experience conducting inspections and documenting risks and deficiencies, • Familiarity with developing and executing MOPs and EOPs, • EPA Universal Certification (required), • Experience with boiler systems and HVAC installation, • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in high-availability environments, • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical informationPreferred Qualifications, • Background in data center operations or mission-critical facilities, • Experience with environmental monitoring systems, • Familiarity with large-scale facilities (100,000+ sq ft), • Ability to work in a highly structured, procedure-driven environment, • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotationWork Environment & Schedule, • Location: On-site at a ~500,000 sq. ft. data center facility, • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (First Shift), • On-Call Rotation: Secondary on-call support (low call-in frequency), • Work involves exposure to mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems in a controlled environment, • Company-provided uniforms required and suppliedWhy Join Us?, • Contract-to-hire opportunity with a nationally recognized organization, • Strong potential for career growth and advancement, • Opportunity to develop expertise in a mission-critical environment, • Stable, structured workplace where technical skills are highly valued, • Gain long-term experience within a large-scale, enterprise data center operationJob Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Altamont, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.68 - $45.67/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
