SUMMARY The Niagara Falls Family Resource Center (FRC) Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations, programming, and community engagement of the Family Resource Center in Niagara County. This role focuses on promoting protective factors and improved health outcomes for refugees and other vulnerable populations across Niagara County by coordinating client-facing programs and offerings; connecting families to resources; and creating a welcoming, inclusive environment that promotes family well-being and stability. The individual in this role will work closely with the Director of Community Enrichment, the Manager of Family and Community Well-Being, Buffalo FRC Coordinator, and our team of Family Support Specialists and will work to fill gaps on the team where needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS A representative summary of tasks to be performed is provided below. The duties and responsibilities of the position are to be carried out in a manner that is consistent with the mission, values and values of Jewish Family Services. • Program Coordination & Delivery, • Plan, implement, and evaluate programs and workshops for families (e.g., Open Play, Mommy and Me time, Clothing Drives/Swaps, Early Childhood Development programs, Financial Literacy classes), • Coordinate support groups, events, and community activities, • Ensure programs are culturally responsive and aligned with community needs, • Family Support & Resource Navigation, • Serve as an initial point of contact for families seeking support, • Conduct needs assessments and provide referrals to appropriate services (housing, healthcare, childcare, mental health, etc.), in coordination with Family Support Team, • Work with Manager of Family and Community Well-Being to support families in accessing childcare support, • Perform supervised visitation for Family Court and DSS-involved families, • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local resources and partnerships, • Fill in for Family Support Specialists as needed and where appropriate, • Community Outreach & Engagement, • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, and service providers, • Create marketing materials and conduct outreach to increase awareness and participation in FRC programs, • Represent the FRC at community events and meetings, • Center Operations, • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Family Resource Center, • Maintain a safe, welcoming, culturally-responsive, and organized environment in partnership with rest of team, • Track program participation, maintain records, and prepare reports, • Provide back-up for the Buffalo FRC Coordinator as needed, • Collaboration & Partnerships, • Lead the Community Advisory Committee, • Work collaboratively with internal staff and external partners, • Support grant requirements, reporting, and data collection efforts, • Assist program leadership in developing new programs based on community feedback and needsQUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience:, • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Public Health, or a related field (or equivalent experience), • Bilingual or multilingual abilities (a bonus but not required), • Experience in trauma-informed care or family-centered practices, • Familiarity with grant-funded programs, • Able to travel outside the office to various sites in the community, • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision and to manage time effectively, • Ability to work evening and weekend hours to meet the demands of the job, • Ability to maintain confidentiality Competencies: • Communication Intelligence - Listens to others, able to communicate issues clearly and credibly with widely varied audiences; fosters open communication and manages emotion in positive ways., • Client Focus - Understands and meets client needs, whether internal or external, providing a high level of service and cooperation courteousness & sensitivity., • Teamwork and Collaboration– Able to work as a member of team of staff from different departments, • Planning & Organization – Develops, implements, evaluates and adjusts plans to reach goals while ensuring the optimal use of resources., • Detail orientation - Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern form all the areas involved or impacted. WORKING CONDITIONS • Will work in the office and in the community. Able to travel outside the office to various sites to attend meetings and provide support services., • Valid NYS driver’s license and access to reliable transportation with sufficient insurance (100/300K) is required., • Must be comfortable making home visits and providing one on one education in homes/the community, as well as leading group programming, • Flexible hours including days and some evenings and weekends. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Light physical activities and efforts required working in an office environment and in community settings. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Competitive salary of $26 - $32 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications., • Health, Dental, and Vision insurance., • Accrued Paid Time Off (PTO) of 4+ weeks in addition to a paid agency wide shut down between Christmas and New Year's Day., • 401k retirement plan with agency contribution of 4%., • 13+ observed holidays annually., • Reduced full-time work week of 35 hours and early close on Fridays.
