Job Description Medical Receptionist The Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing front desk operations. This role is responsible for verifying patient information, handling insurance and billing inquiries, and ensuring smooth daily clinic workflow. The ideal candidate is professional, compassionate, and able to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment while maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations. Full time and Part-time positions available. Duties • Verifies patient demographic information is complete and correct including address, phone number, email, pharmacy, referring Doctor and PRP information and ensures required Meaningful Use fields are complete. Changes the location and doctor patient is seeing as applicable., • Enters and verifies insurance information and that most current cards are scanned into Medent. Scans photo ID; takes photo of patients., • Reviews all patient forms for accuracy and completion according to office policies prior to accepting. Demographic & medical history forms to be updated with change or annually., • Ensures patient has signed any required documents including HIPAA and Financial Policies., • Verifies and collects appropriate co-pays/deposits and maintains an accurate log of payments received. Informs patient of any balances or credits. Collects past due balances from patients as applicable., • Verifies the date on x-ray orders. Asks patients if they are bringing outside films on cd., • Checks patients in and notifies appropriate staff of arrival in Medent., • Enters and reviews notes in Admin Notebook in Medent. Removes note after informing patient if necessary., • Answers and directs incoming calls promptly and appropriately., • As applicable, scans demos and records., • Respects and protects the confidentiality of all patient and Company information through the adherence of all HIPAA guidelines and regulations., • Education Requirements, • High School Diploma or equivalent required, • Experience Requirements, • Healthcare environment, • Medical Terminology, • Medent EMR, • Skills and Competencies Requirements, • Must be proficient in the use of all office equipment (computer, phone, fax, scanner, copier, etc.) Superior communication and customer service skills. Must de detail oriented and can multi-task effectively while working in a fast-paced environment. Must also possess excellent organizational skills.
