Job DescriptionJob Title: Assembler Job Description The Assembler builds high-quality products by following engineering specifications and drawings while working with a variety of tools and materials in a manufacturing environment. This role involves assembling electrical and mechanical components, performing tasks such as soldering, potting, encapsulation, epoxy bonding, sanding, and cleaning, and occasionally supporting prototype builds for engineering. The Assembler also helps identify and recommend improvements to fixtures and tools and provides support to other assemblers on assembly-related questions. Responsibilities • Assemble products according to engineering specifications, diagrams, and drawings using the tools and equipment provided., • Use soldering irons, solder pots, and hand tools to assemble electrical and mechanical components., • Perform assembly tasks such as potting, encapsulation, epoxy bonding, sanding, and cleaning of parts and assemblies., • Assemble prototype units for engineering when required, following detailed instructions and documentation., • Recommend practical solutions to assembly issues related to fixtures, tools, and processes to improve quality and efficiency., • Assist other assemblers by answering questions and providing guidance related to the assembly of products., • Interpret specifications, diagrams, and blueprints to ensure accurate and consistent assembly., • Perform simple math calculations, such as basic addition and subtraction, to verify dimensions and measurements., • Handle and transport units weighing up to 30 pounds unassisted as part of daily assembly activities., • Follow established manufacturing procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards during all assembly operations.Essential Skills, • At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, or completion of a relevant technical certificate., • High school diploma or equivalent., • Ability to interpret specifications, diagrams, and blueprints for assembly work., • Ability to perform simple math, including basic addition and subtraction, to check dimensions and measurements., • Hands-on experience with assembly work in a manufacturing environment., • Electrical assembly skills, including working with soldering irons and solder pots., • Mechanical assembly skills, including working with hand tools and small components., • Ability to use a soldering iron safely and effectively., • Physical ability to lift and transport units up to 30 pounds without assistance., • Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements during assembly tasks., • Eligibility to obtain any required Export Authorization, either as a US Person or a non-US Person who meets applicable requirements.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in electronics manufacturing environments., • Familiarity with potting, encapsulation, and epoxy bonding processes., • Experience assembling prototype units or working with engineering teams., • Ability to identify and suggest improvements to assembly fixtures and tools., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work., • Comfort working with hand tools, small parts, and precision components.Why Work Here? You will lift and transport units weighing up to 30 pounds unassisted as part of normal duties. The environment follows structured processes, engineering documentation, and safety protocols to ensure consistent product quality and safe operation of tools and equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Yaphank, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
