Job Description Mig Welder $20 - $22hr Job Description This role focuses on performing high-quality welding and fabrication work on concrete batching equipment and related components. You will interpret blueprints and specifications, set up and execute welds in multiple positions, and contribute to the production of durable, high-performance equipment in an industrial weld shop environment. Responsibilities • Perform all necessary welding operations with minimal supervision, including laying out and welding in any position using automatic and non-automatic welding equipment., • Use wire welding processes such as FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) and GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) to weld steel components on equipment according to blueprints, diagrams, work orders, written and oral instructions, specified procedures, and quality requirements., • Set up and lay out work using templates and fixtures to modify, fabricate, or repair equipment parts and products, ranging from simple tack welds to complex welds in varying positions and spaces., • Work from blueprints, sketches, specifications, and oral instructions to complete welding and fabrication tasks accurately and efficiently., • Direct the work of others as needed and take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of the work performed by those you guide., • Operate various air, power, and hand tools, including Air Arc, welding guns, grinders, wrenches, hammers, cutting torches, drills, punches, scrapers, and similar equipment., • Operate forklifts, cranes, and overhead hoists with associated rigging equipment to move and position materials and assemblies safely., • Inspect, clean, and improve welds as necessary to meet rigorous product and quality specifications, ensuring all welds meet internal standards., • Keep welding equipment and tools operational by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, following manufacturer instructions, calling for repairs when needed, and completing daily check sheets., • Use a computer to access and open or close documents, perform data entry in ERP software, and complete other basic computer-based tasks related to production and quality., • Fulfill work requirements according to established quality standards, including performing incoming and outgoing quality checks and documenting actions on production and quality forms., • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean working environment by following company guidelines and Hazardous Waste Management programs., • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently and appropriately to complete work tasks., • Use company property with care and respect, help maintain it in good working condition, and ensure it remains on the premises., • Interact with coworkers, customers, and management in a cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner while complying with company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations., • Perform other duties as directed to support production, maintenance, and continuous improvement activities., • Continuously strive to improve work-related skills, efficiency, and the quality of output through ongoing learning and practice., • Own and properly maintain small personal hand tools required for daily welding and fabrication tasks., • Complete and, if required, pass certification welding tests to demonstrate and maintain welding proficiency. Essential Skills • Proficiency in wire welding processes, specifically Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)., • Ability to weld flux core in multiple positions and on various types of fabrications using automatic and non-automatic welders., • Capability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, diagrams, specifications, and work orders to perform accurate welds and fabrications., • Skill in laying out and setting up work using templates and fixtures for modification, fabrication, and repair of equipment parts and products., • Experience operating welding-related air, power, and hand tools such as Air Arc, welding guns, grinders, wrenches, hammers, cutting torches, drills, punches, and scrapers., • Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, and overhead hoists with associated rigging equipment safely in an industrial environment., • AWS 4G qualification skills as a minimum requirement for the position., • Competence in inspecting, cleaning, and improving welds to meet strict product and quality specifications., • Basic computer skills, including the ability to access and manage documents and perform data entry in ERP software., • Commitment to meeting defined quality standards, including performing and documenting incoming and outgoing quality checks., • Strong focus on safety, organization, and cleanliness in accordance with company guidelines and Hazardous Waste Management programs., • Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity., • Effective communication and teamwork skills to interact cooperatively and courteously with coworkers, customers, and management., • Ownership and proper use of small personal hand tools required for welding and fabrication tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working in a production or fabrication environment focused on heavy equipment or industrial products., • Background in MIG welding and production MIG welding applications., • Blueprint reading experience specific to fabrication and fitting work., • Fitter or fitting experience using flux core welding processes., • Willingness to pass certification welding tests as required to validate skills., • Ability to adapt to changing work assignments and perform a variety of welding and fabrication tasks., • Interest in cross-training and learning new skills to support multiple functions within the weld shop., • Strong attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset toward efficiency and output quality. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Sunnyvale, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
