Provide periodic assistance with authoring aspects of corporate foundation and other foundation funding application and reports., • Research prospective individual donors. Build Relationships: • Assist with the establishment of Project FIND giving societies recognizing donors for their contributions. Create materials to recruit new and current donors to become society members., • Assist with the promotion of the current Project FIND Planned Giving Legacy Leaders society and corporate matching programs., • Serve as a contributing member of Project FINDs development team: participate in team meetings and supervision sessions and collaborate as an essential member of working groups dedicated to special projects and events. Special Events: • Collaborate with the DoDER and the Brand Manager on the planning and on-site coordination of special events, including benefits, open houses, tours and activities involving Project FIND participants, volunteers, board members, donors, funders and community leaders. Manage Relationships: • Assist with drafting and sending donor acknowledgments in a timely fashion., • Help with the execution of direct mail solicitations, including the year-end appeal and appeals for special campaigns and events., • Assist on occasion with the maintenance and updating of event and direct mail mailing lists. Assist with ensuring contact lists are maintained for data merging of letters and envelopes., • Assist with the creation of and reporting of department fundraising metrics. The Associate Director of Development (AD) plays a critical role in advancing Genesys Works New York City’s fundraising, stewardship, and external engagement strategies. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role is responsible for implementing development initiatives, overseeing all marketing and communications activities, and managing site-level campaigns and events. The AD works closely both with the local NYC team and with the Regional Director of Development and national team to align efforts, while also serving as the point of contact for GWNYC with local donors and the broader community. This is a hybrid role based in the New York City metropolitan area, with time spent primarily working from home and at in-person events or meetings with prospects and supporters in New York City. Key Responsibilities (time percentages are best estimates) Fundraising & Stewardship (50%) • Partner with the Regional Director of Development to support cultivation and stewardship of individual, corporate, and foundation donors., • Lead execution of site-level fundraising campaigns (e.g., annual/end-of-year appeal, board giving, and special giving campaigns)., • Manage donor stewardship activities, including timely acknowledgments, impact reporting, and recognition opportunities., • Manage grant writing consultant to ensure effective and timely submission of grant proposals, reports, and other grant-related documentation., • Serve as the primary communications lead for the site., • Create and distribute newsletters, press releases, and donor/board communications., • Manage social media accounts and digital presence, ensuring consistent brand voice and visibility., • Responsible for the strategic vision of all site-level events (cultivation, fundraising, and community/board events), in collaboration with the Executive Director., • Track and report on development metrics to the Executive Director and Regional Director of Development., • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, fundraising standards, and brand guidelines., • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)., • 5+ years of experience in development, communications, or related roles, with proven success in fundraising campaigns and events., • Strong writing, editing, public communication, and relationship-building skills., • Proficiency with CRM systems, donor databases, and digital marketing tools., • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate across teams., • Initiative and follow-through in managing projects., • Strong interpersonal skills and donor-centered approach., • Excellent organizational and time management skills., • Creativity in marketing/communications with attention to detail.
