Job Description Energy Engineer - Mid-level (NY) This role will be an integral part of our expanding team and services to provide commissioning, energy auditing, and retrofit services to multifamily, commercial, institutional, cultural/art center, and community center buildings in the NYC Metropolitan area and beyond. The role involves work on the NYC Accelerator Program, developed by the Mayor’s Office of Climate and Sustainability. This program provides free, personalized guidance for buildings throughout the five boroughs, with the aim of reducing city-wide building energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. We are looking for qualified individuals for our New York City office. Job Description Summary Streetwork Project is the oldest street outreach program for homeless and street-involved youth in New York City. The program has grown from its beginnings in 1984 as a storefront project to encompass both outreach and comprehensive harm reduction services. The core service is long-term, one-on-one counseling, which is offered in a non-judgmental and holistic manner utilizing a harm reduction approach that focuses on building trust, fostering self-esteem, exploring options and choices, and empowering youth to change their high-risk behaviors. As part of our continuum of services we operate an emergency housing program for homeless youth in NYC, Streetwork Overnight. The Overnight is a 24 bed facility for youth ages 16-20. It is open from 7 pm to 10 am 7 days a week. Casual Youth Advocates work overnight hours to support the youth while they are in our crisis shelter. As part of our continuum of services, we also provide overnight outreach in teams of two seven nights a week (7 pm to 3 am), throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Casual Youth Advocates work overnight hours to meet the most disenfranchised youth while they are in crisis. Casual Youth Advocates work part-time and on-call, filling in for full-time youth advocate absences at the Overnight and Outreach program. When a young person is unsure of their goals/interests, Coaches help them explore and expose them to potential opportunities. They then help young people connect to schools, programs, and opportunities that align with their goals/interests, encourage persistence in those settings, and plan/prepare for the next step on their journey. SUMMARY Under the general direction of the program director or designee, the Residence Program Specialist is responsible for supporting the care, development, and independence of individuals living in an ADAPT Community Network residential facility. This role fosters dignity, respect, and learning while helping to create a safe, supportive, and homelike environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The duties and responsibilities of the Residential Program Specialist II will include, but are not limited to the following: • Provides care and supports the people we support in achieving greater independence and personal development., • Ensures the safety, health, and well-being of the people we support at all times., • Teaches and assists with activities of daily living (ADLs), including self-help, social, and community living skills., • Maintains a personalized, homelike, and respectful atmosphere within the residence., • Participates actively in interdisciplinary treatment plans and implements individualized program goals., • Documents daily activities, progress notes, incident reports, and other required records accurately and in a timely manner., • Responds to crisis situations and medical emergencies, including providing first aid and contacting emergency personnel as needed., • Contacts emergency personnel (police, fire, ambulance) when necessary to ensure safety of the people we support and staff., • Ensures all actions are conducted in a manner that prevents abuse, neglect, or exploitation, and immediately reports any concerns in accordance with agency policy., • Follows all OPWDD-approved behavior management guidelines, including use of approved interventions when required., • Administers medications as an Approved Medication Administration Personnel (AMAP), following agency protocols and under nursing supervision., • Provides transportation for the people we support to program, work, appointments, and recreational activities as needed., • Assists with meal planning, grocery shopping, and meal preparation to promote nutrition and independence., • Participates in housekeeping, laundry, and light maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment., • Attends and participates in staff meetings, trainings, and in-service sessions to support ongoing development and quality care., • Promotes dignity, respect, and person-centered approaches in all interactions with the people we support, families, and staff., • Maintains confidentiality of all resident information and documentation., • Performs other related duties as assigned.
