Job Description About the Role: The EMT-P Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing emergency medical services operations at the Town of Wallkill Emergency Medical Services. This position is responsible for ensuring that all line staff are well-trained, compliant with protocols, and providing high-quality patient care. The supervisor will coordinate emergency response efforts, assist in manage staffing schedules, and facilitate ongoing training and development for the team. Additionally, the EMT-P Supervisor will serve as a liaison between the TOWEMS team and other healthcare professionals, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Ultimately, the goal of this role is to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of emergency medical services, thereby improving patient outcomes in the community. Minimum Qualifications: • Current NYS EMT-P certification., • Minimum of 3 years of experience in emergency medical services, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role., • Strong knowledge of emergency medical protocols and procedures., • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record., • Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field., • Supervise and manage the daily operations of the TOWEMS team of EMTs and Paramedics, ensuring adherence to protocols and standards., • Coordinate emergency response efforts, including dispatching personnel and equipment as needed., • Maintain accurate records of incidents, training, and staff performance for compliance and reporting purposes. The required skills for this position include strong leadership and communication abilities, which are essential for effectively managing the paramedic team and ensuring clear communication during emergencies. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are utilized daily to assess situations quickly and make informed decisions that impact patient care. Organizational skills are necessary for maintaining accurate records and managing staff schedules efficiently. Preferred skills, such as knowledge of community health initiatives, can enhance the team's ability to engage with the community and promote health awareness.
