Job Description BACKGROUND: DWK Life Sciences LLC (DWK) was created as a result of the merger of three industry leaders and provides the world’s laboratories and production environments with the most comprehensive range of labware for scientific research and technical applications as well as solutions for storage and packaging. POSITION SUMMARY: A Process Technician is responsible for evaluating and creating new process procedures for the rubber department. This position takes direction from the rubber manager to coordinate with production /sampling needs. The Process Technician develops the design of new products and helps to cost the jobs according to manufacturing processes and tooling required. The Process Technician ensures all processes are documented. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for all aspects of the compression molding process, including, but not limited to, set-up and tear-down, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and workflow., • Work with production personnel to ensure molded components meet requirements; adjusting as required., • Provide molded components promptly to ensure production schedules are met., • Generate documentation on molding runs that can be used to control traceability and ensure reproducibility., • Troubleshoot electrical/mechanical systems and connections between Tool/Die and the machines., • Analyze, install, test, and review machine settings to increase operating efficiency., • Complete required paperwork routing/setup sheet, • Confer with Supervisor, area leaders, or others to resolve molding and trimming issues ., • Optimize material utilization through process and improve scrap reduction., • Identify employee training needs and communicate to Operations Manager., • Maintain good housekeeping and EHS requirements., • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in compression molding or similar, • High school diploma or equivalent, • Excellent organizational skills., • Experience with Process Control Documentation, • Ability to develop process sheets and set parameters for current and new products., • Must have good oral and written communication., • Ability to lift 50 lbs., • Able to stand for long periods of time. Must have the ability to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Lift up to 50 pounds. Employee may be required to work weekends, holidays and be on-call on occasion. The employee may encounter controlled air conditions with frequent air changes, environmental exposure.
