Job Description Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and driven Controls Engineer to join our engineering team at Client Pharmaceutical Glass facility in Vineland, NJ. In this role, you will be responsible for programming and maintaining automation systems on the production floor. You will troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, minimize downtime, and contribute to process improvements by implementing robust control solutions. This position requires a deep understanding of PLCs, HMIs, and controls systems integration. Key Responsibilities • Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize controls systems (e.g., PLCs, HMIs) on production equipment to ensure maximum uptime and product quality., • Diagnose root causes of control system issues and implement long-term solutions., • Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and automation systems., • Plan and implement electrical improvements, resolve electrical problems, and execute upgrade initiatives., • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to align project goals with plant-wide priorities., • Develop and maintain technical documentation including standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials, troubleshooting guides, and work instructions., • Provide controls engineering expertise on cross-functional projects., • Update engineering documents and schematics as systems evolve., • Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to existing automation and control systems., • Ensure new systems are aligned with plant and corporate engineering standards., • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (required)., • Strong, hands-on proficiency in Allen Bradley PLC programming (Ladder Logic)., • Experience with control systems design and troubleshooting., • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial automation environment., • Familiarity with optical measurement systems and machine vision (e.g., Cognex cameras)., • Knowledge of HMI and SCADA platforms., • Project management experience., • Exposure to programming/scripting languages such as VB .NET, C#, Java, Python., • Understanding of networking and industrial communication protocols.Certifications (if any), • No certifications required. Relevant certifications in PLC programming, industrial automation, or safety standards are a plus.
