About You Your contribution: The Manager of Risk Management will handle the comprehensive insurance and risk management programs of Wakefern, assessing and identifying risks that could impede the reputation, safety, security, and financial success of the organization and ensuring the financial protection of the organization through insurance and self-insurance programs. Responsibilities include day to day management of the purchase and maintenance of insurance programs through third party insurers and/or captive insurance company, and the associated relationships with third party service providers including brokers, insurers and TPAs. This leader handles responsibilities of the Risk Management Committee (RMC) and captive board meetings, and prepares loss analyses and insurance budgets. In addition, the manager identifies risk exposures, recommends solutions and promotes practices to prevent, mitigate and reduce risk. This position is located in Edison, NJ. What you will do: Insurance and Captive Programs • Manage all property and casualty insurance and captive insurance programs., • Lead the oversight and handling the risk transfer and funding strategies, including insurance renewals, captive operations and performance improvement of its programs, • Manage Risk Management Committee (RMC) agendas, planning, review, preparation and presentation of materials with internal and external providers., • Handle property and casualty loss control programs, initiatives and activities, across the cooperative in partnership with external services providers and internal stakeholders., • Recommend, help implement and monitor the performance of the risk management, insurance and regulatory practices, policies, and solutions across the enterprise., • Oversee the insurance and captive programs relationship with brokers, insurers, insurance advisors and regulators., • Collaborate with the team and cross divisional teams to identify day to day challenges and opportunities and look for ways to innovate, improve and implement, working holistically., • Lead a team of senior and junior risk analysts, and act as coach, mentor, and advisor., • Educate team on insurance and risk management policies and practices, • Maximize performance across the division for efficiency and effectiveness., • Evaluate team members’ performance and provide ongoing feedback for growth and development. Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this position is: $140,000 - $170,000 Placement in the range depends on several factors, including experience, skills, education, geography, and budget considerations. Additional experience may warrant additional compensation.
