This role is to provide a dedicated, full-time on-site technician to serve as the primary resource for all daily operational needs related to screen hardware. This technician will manage proactive health checks, immediate break-fix response, inventory management, and coordination of all service requests. This is an open-ended, ongoing contract or full-time position that will go on in perpetuity. It will typically be in the 40-45 hours a week range. The On-Site Event AV Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all digital displays throughout a local sports stadium are operational and content is playing as intended during all events. This critical role is accountable for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the hardware utilized to display content across the 2,000 screens in the venue. The position requires ensuring systems are running smoothly before, during, and after events while supporting media player hardware deployments and content ingestion. In addition, this position will assist with technical signage needs in multiple venues in the Charlotte area as needed and maintain thorough documentation of daily activities, including preventive maintenance, display issues, and the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process. Key Responsibilities Event Day Operations • Serve as the primary point of contact for all event-related requests and issues, ensuring a seamless experience for event organizers and attendees., • Provide on-site support for private events, adhering to a pre-defined run of show., • Provide on-site support for all game/event days as required., • Coordinate with remote support team for the operation of the IPTV platform for content management, including script creation/editing, zone/group manipulation, content ingestion, and system health checks., • Identify and troubleshoot issues within the IPTV system, including head-end configuration and IP network systems, ensuring any technical issues are resolved swiftly and arrange for remote and onsite support as needed., • New Media Player Deployment: Assist with the deployment and configuration of new media player hardware as required for specific events or system upgrades., • Event Support: Act as the point of contact for operational support during events, responding to on-site requests and ensuring that systems are functioning optimally throughout the duration of the event. Technical Knowledge • Working knowledge and experience with the following:, • Digital displays and supporting hardware, • Media Players, • System on Chip, • Cabling, • Mounting, • Data network protocols and troubleshooting, • Experience with the functionality of Content Management Software and IPTV solutions, • Experience with system administration and troubleshooting across interconnected devices, including cabling and network configurations., • CCNA certification or equivalent experience/knowledge is a nice-to-have., • Experience with Microsoft suite software, • Experience working with customers of all levels, understanding their needs, and addressing issues quickly and professionally., • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure live production environment, with real-time decision-making skills., • Comfortable working evenings and weekends to support events and required preparations., • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines without direct supervision., • Proven experience in coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure operational requirements are met and documented., • Availability: We value flexibility! Your ability to work evenings, weekends, and event days is crucial to our success., • Valid Driver’s License: Must hold a valid driver’s license and have the ability to drive personal vehicle to and from the venues as required., • Creative Software Knowledge: Ability to verify content specifications as needed, including encoding video assets., • Hardware Knowledge: Base-level understanding of network distribution and router/switching configurations., • System Maintenance: Ability to perform routine system health checks, troubleshooting, and updates to ensure optimal system performance., • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds., • Occasional use of ladders to access, install, or service equipment., • Frequent standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility during events., • Ability to bend, reach, and perform tasks that may require working in tight or elevated spaces.
