Job DescriptionCNC Turret Punch Press Operator Job Description This role operates CNC turret punch press equipment to produce precise metal components according to specifications and blueprints. The position requires at least two years of hands-on CNC punch press experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a machining and fabrication environment. Responsibilities • Operate CNC turret punch press machines to produce parts according to blueprints, work orders, and job specifications., • Read and interpret blueprints to determine dimensions, tolerances, and tooling requirements., • Set up CNC punch press equipment, including loading and properly positioning parts, selecting appropriate tools, and preparing programs for specific jobs., • Read, understand, and work with “G” code programming, including locating, transferring, and editing programs as needed to execute specific jobs., • Use sensitive measurement equipment to verify part dimensions and ensure products meet quality and precision standards., • Execute proper shimming of punches and dies as necessary to maintain accuracy and part quality., • Perform deburring of punched parts to remove sharp edges and ensure clean, finished components., • Operate powered hand tools safely in support of machining and finishing operations., • Use overhead crane equipment safely to move materials and parts as required., • Maintain accountability for paperwork, including accurately charging time to specific work orders and following payroll procedures., • Perform routine machine and area maintenance to keep equipment and workstations clean, safe, and in good working order., • Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate safety equipment in the machining environment., • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CNC turret punch press operator., • Proven ability to operate CNC punch press equipment, including CNC turret punch presses and related machinery., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately., • Ability to perform machine set ups for CNC punch press operations., • Ability to read, understand, and work with “G” code programming, including basic program edits., • Skill in using sensitive measurement equipment to verify part dimensions and tolerances., • Ability to use a protractor and other standard measuring tools., • Understanding of G codes as they relate to CNC punch press operations., • Ability to safely operate powered hand tools in a machining environment., • Training or experience in overhead crane operations., • Ability to deburr punched parts to required quality standards., • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as part of normal job duties., • Experience operating press brake, CNC turret punch press, and CNC brake press equipment., • Familiarity with Amada punch press machinery., • Experience with shear press operations., • Experience working with G codes, editing programs, and troubleshooting basic programming issues., • Demonstrated ability to maintain machines and work areas in a clean and safe condition. Work Environment The role is based in a large industrial manufacturing facility that produces HVAC industrial systems. The environment is non-climate controlled and located in an industrial area of West Dallas. You will work primarily with CNC turret punch presses, including Amada punch presses, as well as related equipment such as press brakes, shear presses, powered hand tools, overhead cranes, and precision measurement instruments. The standard schedule runs from 5:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with regular overtime opportunities. The setting is a hands-on, production-focused shop floor where safety procedures, proper use of protective equipment, and adherence to machining best practices are essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $27.00/hr.
