Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Crane Mechanic to join our team. This role is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining electric, diesel, and gasoline-powered cranes, hoists, and related heavy equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation both in our shop and on job sites. Key Responsibilities • Inspect, diagnose, and repair gasoline and diesel crane engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components., • Perform preventative maintenance on cranes, hoists, and heavy equipment., • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and service instructions., • Assist with crane assembly and setup at job sites., • Respond to equipment breakdowns or emergency service calls to minimize downtime., • Maintain accurate service and repair records in line with company and regulatory standards., • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues., • Adhere to OSHA, DOT, and company safety regulations at all timesRequirements:, • Knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems., • Ability to use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and repair techniques safely and effectively., • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail., • High school diploma or GED, plus related experience/training. Preferred: • 2–5 years of experience in heavy equipment or crane repair., • CDL license, OSHA 10/30, or Crane Inspector certification., • Strength & Mobility: Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly and heavier loads with assistance or mechanical aid., • Postures & Movement: Frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders and equipment, bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling in both shop and field settings., • Dexterity: Ability to perform fine hand manipulation for wiring, electrical testing, and mechanical adjustments; must handle and carry hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment (typically 10–20 lbs)., • Balance & Access: Ability to climb onto, under, and around large cranes and hoists, including maneuvering over obstacles and working at elevated heights using ladders, scaffolds, and lifts., • Endurance: Capable of standing and/or walking up to 90–95% of the workday, often in physically demanding or awkward positions., • Senses: Adequate vision, hearing, and manual coordination to operate tools, read schematics, perform inspections, and identify potential safety hazards., • Work Conditions: Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to loud noise, vibration, dust, grease, hot/cold temperatures, and weather elements., • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Required use of steel-toed, slip-resistant boots, safety glasses, gloves, hard hat, hearing protection, and other PPE as tasks require.
