Job Description Clinical Therapist, Visitation Foster Care The Salvation Army, Family Place Foster Program , Multiple Openings Full-Time/$28.00 hr./Full Benefits Clinical Visitation Worker (CVW): We are seeking a full-time Clinical Visitation Worker for our Family Place Program, which provides safe opportunities for parents to engage in clinical services and parenting time with their children who are in foster care. This position offers: • Flexible hours with no weekend or on-call responsibilities., • Choice of 4/10 or 5/8 weekly work schedule., • Opportunity to gain licensure hours for clinical professions including: marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, and clinical social work., • Collaboration with many other community-based organizations and school programs in Onondaga County The Salvation Army offers a truly excellent benefits package to eligible employees, including: • Generous time off every year that includes paid holidays, 15 paid holidays for 2024, up to 3 personal days, vacation time, and sick time, • Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program eligible Employer., • Comprehensive Health Care Coverage with low cost employee premiums less than 10% employee contribution, co-pays, and deductibles, • Eligibility for supplemental insurance plans, including Short Term & Long-Term Disability, AFLAC, and Voluntary Term Life, • Flexible Spending Accounts, • Remitted Tuition program, • Employer funded Pension Plan (fully vested after 5 years!) & 403B Tax deferred employee retirement savings plan Job Duties: • Supervise and assess visits between children in foster care and their natural parents, maintaining comprehensive, detailed documentation of family interactions during visits (as needed based on staffing coverage)., • Provide pre-visit and/or post-visit counseling, education, and clinical intervention targeted to issues raised in the observed visits., • Counseling sessions can be scheduled in the Family Place building, within clients’ homes, or in the community., • Provide comprehensive intake and evaluation of prospective clients, referring for auxiliary services as necessary., • Devise and implement individualized service plans, goals, and intervention strategies, in collaboration with visitation coaches and the client., • Maintain all case files, narratives, statistical information, and provide ongoing assessment, treatment recommendation, clinical evaluations and comprehensive termination reports., • Provide written documentation on client's observed behavior and response to treatment intervention; consultation and recommendation regarding child’s permanency plans, and family’s treatment needs; and expert testimony to courts and judiciaries regarding risk assessments., • Present cases for intra-agency consultation, in addition to participating in regularly held department staff meetings, case conferences, supervision, and in-service training sessions., • Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of related experience, • MSW or Masters Degree in related field preferred, or pursuing Masters Degree., • Strong background in family systems is preferred., • Must be able to ensure families' needs are met during crises., • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and consistently meet deadlines, • Valid Driver's License that meets The Salvation Army's insurance requirements, • Access to private transportation during work hours.
