Position Summary The Senior Staff Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the companyβs financial records. Reporting to the CEO, this position is responsible for general ledger management, month-end closing, reconciliations, fixed asset management, accounts payable processing, and treasury reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset. This role is hands-on and collaborative β ideal for a motivated accounting professional seeking to grow within a dynamic, healthcare-focused organization. Looking for a team member to create an implement a structured finance department for our rapidly growing company. Essential Functions:General Accounting & Reporting β’ Prepare and record month-end journal entries and recurring accruals., β’ Reconcile general ledger and sub-ledger accounts, including bank accounts, prepaid assets, and fixed assets., β’ Assist in preparing monthly financial reporting packages, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements., β’ Perform variance and trend analysis to identify discrepancies and explain fluctuations., β’ Support the preparation of tax filings, audits, and other regulatory reporting requirements., β’ Enter and accurately code accounts payable invoices; prepare weekly payment batches for CEOβs review., β’ Maintain vendor files and ensure proper authorization and documentation of disbursements., β’ Maintain and reconcile fixed asset sub-ledgers, record additions, disposals, and depreciation., β’ Support implementation and optimization of accounting software and automation tools., β’ Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors., β’ Support internal control initiatives and compliance with healthcare and company policies., β’ Perform ad hoc analyses and reporting as requested by leadership., β’ Associateβs or bachelorβs degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field., β’ 3β5 years of progressive accounting experience (preferably in healthcare, laboratory, or multi-entity environments)., β’ Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting., β’ Proven experience with bank and balance sheet reconciliations., β’ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas)., β’ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills., β’ Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision., β’ High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy., β’ CPA or working toward CPA certification., β’ Prior public accounting or healthcare industry experience., β’ 3-5 years EMR experience.
